What a great night to help everyone stay alert and slake for the big game! Thanks to everyone who came along to our family Beetle Drive. Such good fun and great to see everyone of all ages mixing and getting to know each other better.

The saltire is flying on the church as a symbol of community hope as Scotland play their first World Cup finals game against Haiti. Even if you are not into football, the pride and hope of our nation is evident this week! Remember the game is at 2am … don’t worry how tired you are, or how happy after what will be a momentous victory … come to church tomorrow morning at 11am (coffee will be available before hand should you need it!)

A wonderful morning as we made some history in Kilmacolm Parish Church. This morning St Columba's School, Kilmacolm brought the whole school from Junior I to Senior VI together for an assembly to mark St Columba day. This is the first time the school have met in the Parish Church following the closure of St Columba Church and is also the first time in most peoples memory of the whole school coming together as one for a Monday morning assembly. The church also handed over a 100 year old carved lectern bearing an image of St Columba and the dove to the school as a permanent loan to signify the developing partnership between the school and the church.

During the service we will celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion which is open to anyone who knows and loves the Lord Jesus Christ; who follows him; and even those who feel they've failed to follow are welcome to join the Sacrament. Please ensure you have some bread and wine or juice close by for the second half of the worship.

This is an important story based on an important survey. Whether a family or an individual chooses a direct cremation (which is an unattended service) we will always be willing to conduct a service of thanksgiving or a memorial service in Kilmacolm Parish Church (and most other Church of Scotland churches) at no cost to the family for the minister or the use of the church building. An economic decision does not mean people cannot have a dignified memorial. Get in touch with our minister, Rev Bryan if we can help in any way.
