Solas is open to anyone who is bereaved and who would like to meet others with similar experiences in a safe,friendly environment. Come along on your own or bring a friend. We meet on Thursday 10th September at 2pm in Kidston Hall, Kilmacolm.

Today was our Vision Day where, as a congregation we gathered in worship, food, conversation and a time of listening to God and discerning what his vision for Kilmacolm Parish Church might be in the next few years. There were a lot of good conversations and ideas and there will be much more to come in the weeks ahead.

The Kirk Session has reported that the sale of St Columba building will be finalised on Friday of next week. We know that this will bring many conflicting feelings for people now that this day is finally here. To recognise this our ministers, Rev Bryan and Charlene will be opening the St Columba building on Thursday 10th September between 10am and 4pm and 7pm and 9pm to allow anyone who wishes to come in, spend some time reflecting, looking around and giving thanks one last time.

There will be plenty of space for you to do your own thing and sit with your own thoughts as well as some prayer stations to help you consider some of the memories you have of the building, as well as the hopes you have for the future.

Everyone is welcome, whether former members of St Columba or not, whether current members of the Church of Scotland or not. Please spread the word and invite those who you think might appreciate a time in the building.

This Sunday is our special Vision Sunday ... and everyone is welcome to come along and play a part. We begin at 11am for worship, including communion, then move to the hall for a sandwich lunch. After that, we'll spend the afternoon together as a church family, talking and listening about where we feel God is leading us a church and what the vision is for Kilmacolm Parish Church within our community. We'll finish by 3pm.

We need as many people there as possible. Different ages, different backgrounds, different lengths of time at Kilmacolm. Your voice matters in this, whether you've been part of this church for eighty years or eight months.

Before Sunday, take a few minutes to think about three questions:

What would you like to see God do in our local area?
How would you like to see our church grow?
What is your part to play?

Bring your thoughts along. We would love to see you on Sunday from 11am.

Can you help? last minute request!
We have a very last minute request as it was only arranged very last minute! We have just heard that a van can come today, Friday at 10am to help us move some of the furniture from St Columba Church to the Parish Church in advance of the sale of the building. We would be very grateful for some assistance to lift some tables, chairs etc including some of the church furniture we want to keep and move to the new location.
If you can help today, Friday (probably 10am to approx 1pm) please get in touch … your help would be incredibly appreciated by so many!
