Hello,

I wanted to reach out again as the Local Policing Inspector for North East Derbyshire and Bolsover. Since my last update, we have successfully implemented the Safer Neighbourhood team uplift across the area that has brought an additional sergeant and additional police constables to the existing team.

There are 17 distinct beat areas across North East Derbyshire and Bolsover, and this uplift has allowed me to create three teams to create a better focus on tackling local issues whilst also being able to work as a collective when required. These are:

โ€ข Dronfield, Killamarsh & Clowne SNT under Sergeant Molloy
โ€ข Bolsover & Shirebrook SNT under Sergeant Whyte
โ€ข Clay Cross SNT under Sergeant Jones

The local priorities for all of the beat areas have just been updated which can all be reviewed at:

๐Ÿ‘‰ North East - https://orlo.uk/aNzVd

If you want to assist with how these are selected in the next cycle, review our work towards these priorities, or just want to give feedback around the area you live or work in, then please look to attend a local Community Catch up event or by completing the Community Voice survey at the below link:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Community Voice โ€“ https://orlo.uk/zEXD0

Your feedback is invaluable and plays a key role in informing and renewing our neighbourhood policing priorities.

As we now enter the summer months, I will ensure your local officers are as visible and accessible as they can be in the community. The team as a whole has completed 750 local engagements in 2026 so far, and I want nothing less than the team being the most accessible and visible safer neighbourhood team in the county.

I hope you all have a great summer, and I look forward to feeding back some of the great proactive work we are completing currently in my next report to you.

Inspector Matthew Brown

Whilst on patrol this morning Sgt Molloy sighted this vehicle parked in a dangerous position.

As he was conducting enquiries numerous cars had to utilise the opposite side of the carriageway to approach the junction causing a potential collision with any oncoming traffic. Other members of the public reported that the vehicle had been left there since the previous evening.

The vehicle was recovered for causing a dangerous obstruction to other road users.

This is a reminder to please park considerately or leave your vehicles in a suitable location.

If the owner of this particular vehicle would like any further details please call 101 quoting incident 310 - 07/02/2026

Thank you for visiting us at Killamarsh Police Station.
We hope everyone enjoyed exploring the fire engine and police car, as well as having the opportunity to try on the uniform.

A water safety message from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service,

๐ŸŠ If you see someone in trouble, do not attempt to rescue them. Please call 999 immediately.

๐ŸŠ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ No matter how tempting it may be to cool down in open water, please donโ€™t! Rivers, lakes, reservoirs and quarryโ€™s may look inviting but there are many hidden dangers.

๐ŸŠ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ If you do find yourself in difficulty in water, - float on your back with your head back and arms and legs out like a star. Calm your breathing and shout for help.

No matter how hot the weather gets, open water remains very cold, sending your body into shock. There are also hidden dangers lurking under the water that you could get trapped in.

Preventing doorstep crime

Doorstep crime can include rogue traders, offering home improvement or gardening services, or bogus callers who claim to be the council, police, health carers or energy companies. If in doubt - keep them out.

Rogue traders may:
* Say they are in the area and have spotted a problem with your home or garden.
* Claim to have materials left over from another job, like paving or tarmac.
* Try to pressurise you to buy goods or sign up for services on the spot.
* Offer to carry out work cheaply, but charge an extortionate price after it has been completed.
* Offer to drive you to a bank so you can withdraw money to pay them.
* Provide false names, addresses or telephone numbers.
* A pedlar is someone who calls at your door to sell items that they have on offer. This can often include cleaning or household goods.
* By law, they are required to carry a pedlarโ€™s certificate, which are issued by the police force in the area where they live.

Bogus callers may:
* Claim to be working for the council, water, gas or electric company. They could also say they are a nurse, doctor or from the police.
* Say they need to come into your home, or try to get you to go outside.
* Try to distract you so they can steal your money.
* Can be male, female or even children.

Tips to keep you safe
* Check the identity of any caller. Confirm who they are by calling the company they work for using number from the telephone directory or a bill.
* Ask a neighbour to come around to check them before you open the door.
* Tell them to come back at a time when someone will be at home with you.
* Keep doors and windows locked and use the door chain every time you answer the door.
