St Mary and All Saints Church is one of the churches in the Kidderminster Ismere Parish. It is the Civic Church of Kidderminster.

Recently, the back of church has been rather barricaded by scaffolding to enable workmen to effect repairs to the roof, after crumbling high level material fell to the floor. Currently, it is uncertain whether some of the hefty costs associated with these repairs can be covered by insurance.

Right where the repairs have to be done a historic
painting has hung, depicting the Royal Coat of
Arms of King George III. This painting needed to
be brought down to ground level to avoid being
damaged. This was finally done a week ago today!

This move has prompted people to ask if the painting could be relocated, and therefore be more visible in the church. However, any relocation of the painting will require a faculty from diocesan authorities – and this will take a little time. What do you think? Should the painting be relocated?

THIS WEEK AT ST MARY’S…

MAYOR’S CIVIC SERVICE - On Sunday 14th June we welcome this year's Mayor of Kidderminster, Cllr Shazu Miah, with his fellow councillors to our morning service at 11 am.

Each year we welcome our town's civic leaders to a service in which we give thanks to God for our community, and pray for purpose and endeavour in local government. We pray for our Mayor in his role as figurehead of the Town Council, and for his support of local charities and community work.

This service will not be the customary eucharist. All are invited to share in this occasion.

COFFEE AND COMPANY - Saturday 13th June, 10:30am-12pm.

Ascension Day - May 14th - TOMORROW!

In the Christian calendar Ascension Day comes 40 days after Easter Day. Traditionally it has marked the end of the appearances of Jesus to his disciples after his resurrection, and it speaks of Christ now exalted and glorified. He is present for all people everywhere. So it is a day to celebrate.

Join us at St Mary's for our Eucharist at 7 pm on Ascension Day: Thursday 14th May,
It will be followed by coffee and cake.
All are welcome.

CHURCH OPEN! - Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Every Tuesday and Thursday at 11 a.m. for 4 hours from May 1st, right through to the end of September.

We have our beautiful church building open to visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11 am and 3 pm.
Come and spend time here yourself - enjoy the stillness, think deep thoughts, offer a prayer, explore the history.
Stewards are on hand to welcome you, guide leaflets are available pointing out key features.
