Hush the noise is our slogan for Advent

Do you know any prophets today?

This week, in the second week of Advent, we are focusing on the prophets: messengers from both the Old and New Testaments who received a vision for a new way. 💡

We're asking how we, as modern day prophets, might remove barriers for people to connect with God and continue the legacy of the prophets today.

You might want to sit and ponder or pray, you and your children might like to come and play perhaps take a photo. The space is yours.......

These include a traditional carol service, a scratch nativity for all ages, and a quiet reflective service for those who find Christmas hurts.

We know how challenging it can be to move from vision into action, particularly at a time when so many of us are feeling overwhelmed by busy-ness. Faith rooted organising practices offer a way of doing things differently, and not by just expecting you to ‘do more things’! Come and join us to explore how, through intentional of listening, discerning, and acting, we are rediscovering many of the practices which enabled early Methodism to flourish.

Today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Week

Join us in a prayer to mark the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Week:

When we feel isolated and lonely
God of faithfulness, be our companion.
When intrusive thoughts disturb and overwhelm
God of peace, quieten our minds.
When we feel distraught and struggle to face the day
God of eternity, be our light.
When self-doubt and shame feel overwhelming
God of hope, sustain us.
When we constantly crave to be more
God of truth, help us accept we are enough.
Loving, life-giving, life-transforming God
You are our Rock, our Refuge and Salvation.
Amen.
