We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Margaret Ward lovely member of our Keighley Catholic community.
She was a long-time and devoted member of Our Lady of Victory School and Parish.
Margaret also dedicated much of her time to the SVP Society, reaching out to the lonely and vulnerable with compassion and dignity.

She kindly supported The Good Shepherd Centre over the years with donations and together they shared a commitment to serving those in need in our community.
Her faith, kindness, and dedication will be deeply missed. We will keep Margaret and her family in our thoughts and prayers.

May she rest in eternal peace.

In Loving Memory of Catherine Goodridge

We are deeply saddened to share the news that Catherine Goodridge, former headteacher of St Anne's Catholic School, sadly passed away on Wednesday.

Catherine was a much-loved and respected member of our school community. Even after her retirement, she remained a familiar and cherished presence—often popping into school to say hello and enjoy a warm chat with staff and children alike.

She lived her life guided by deep faith and unwavering dedication. Catherine left a lasting legacy, not only through her leadership but through the many lives she touched with kindness, care, and prayer.

As Erin Kilcoyne beautifully said:
“She left heart prints on everyone she met… changed the lives of so many… prayed for everyone she loved every morning… and made everyone feel so special. She is now with her beloved husband, Martin.”

Catherine will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time.

May she rest in peace.

THE BOSWORTH MASS

The Yorkshire Branch of the Richard III Society has arranged a Solemn Requiem Mass to be said in St Anne’s Catholic Church North Street, Keighley BD21 3AD at 7.00 pm on Thursday 22 August 2024 for the repose of the soul of King Richard III and the souls of all who died at the Battle of Bosworth on that day 539 years ago.

The Mass will be in the Ordinary Form (English) with music sung in the Latin which Richard would have known. The Celebrant will be the Parish Priest Monsignor Canon David Smith. In his previous Wakefield Parish, Mgr Smith regularly celebrated the December 30 Requiem Mass for Richard Duke of York and Edmund Earl of Rutland at the Chantry Chapel on Wakefield Old Bridge.

Friends of all faiths and none are very welcome, but please inform Graham Mitchell on [email protected] or 01535 645 454 if you intend to attend. St Anne's Church is 10 mins walk from Keighley Railway Station and 5-6 mins walk from Keighley Bus Station. There is ample (free after 6.00 pm) parking on Scott Street which is 2-3 mins walk from the Church.

May Procession tomorrow Friday at 1pm in The Good Shepherd Centre grounds. Fr David will welcome everyone and children from Our Lady of Victories School will be leading a decade of a rosary and sing hymns to Our Lady.
Everyone from our community are very welcome to join us. We will be serving juice and biscuits to all children and tea and coffee for adults.
