Sunday Gospel: Matthew 18.15-20

Collect: Almighty and merciful God, by whose grace alone your faithful people offer you service and praise: grant that we may hasten without stumbling towards the things that you promise;
through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Another lovely Messy Church this morning, shared between the Parish Church and St John’s Episcopal Church in Jedburgh.

With the Scottish Borders’ Walking Festival on, it was all about being on the road and journeying with Jesus. We shared the Emmaus story, sung ‘One more step along the world I go’, and crafted all things feet - foot prints, cheesy feet biscuits, ankle bracelets, and ‘I will follow Jesus’ bookmarks.

Thanks to all who helped and all who came. Our next Messy Church will be on 10 October 2026.

Scottish Borders’ Walking Festival 4-12 September, this year hosted in Jedburgh.

After an opening meeting and ceilidh last night, Rev Sarah, Fr Andrew and our priest in charge, Rev Andi, opened the first walking day
with prayers and a blessing for all involved.

And what more fitting and gorgeous locations than Jedburgh Abbey.

A prayer for walkers and the festival:

O God, be for us our companion on the walk,

Our guide at the crossroads,
Our breath in our weariness,
Our protection in danger,
Our refuge on the Way,
Our shade in the heat,
Our light in the darkness,
Our consolation in our discouragements,
And our strength in our intentions.

So that with your guidance we may arrive safe and sound at the end of the Road enriched with grace and virtue may we return safely to our homes filled with joy. In the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Messy Church *** Today *** All welcome

Hi friends, Messy Church restarts after the summer break on Saturday 5 September. Inspired by the Borders’ Walking Festival, which commences on the same day, we are looking at ‘Jesus, the way, the truth and the life’ through Bible story and song, craft and refreshments.

All are welcome, free of charge.

Yesterday at St Ebba’s Eyemouth. Borders Area Council meeting.

We had a great Borders' Area Council yesterday- our annual trip to St Ebba's in Eyemouth for a meeting that finishes with fish suppers or whatever is your preferred fried item. The highlight of the Area Council year! Grace, Fee, Tim and Lesley also with us but not in pic.
