It seems too early to be welcoming September - especially as the August bank holiday is as late as calendrically (an actual word!!) possible. And with the glorious weather we've had all summer, it seems hard to have the autumn jobs beckoning, I think I'll ignore them for a while and have a cuppa outside, in the sunshine!!

Those who know me may well agree that I am very Christmas minded!! Another little known fact is that August is actually my favourite month - school holidays, summer sunshine and it's heat, picking fruits and vegetables from my garden, blackberries from hedgerows, long evenings sitting outside and it's also my birthday month!!!

Massive congratulations to everyone who ran the 10km and Fun Run, it was a wonderful event and kindly supported by so many.

The good weather has arrived waving a banner that says "it's very hot"!!! Lovely it is, and I, for one, am not complaining but do appreciate the challenges of keeping ones house cool enough to breath and sleep!

Goodness but the bank holiday weekend at the end of May was hot - bbq's, beach trips and basking will have featured for many of us! Let's keep our fingers crossed for ongoing summer weather with just a spot of rain here an there to top up the water butts.
