Join storyteller and singer Jessie McMeekin in the beautiful setting of St Paul's church, Irton for an evening of spellbinding stories and spine-tingling songs to celebrate the fact that Spring is on its way. Jessie brings to life traditional folk tales from Cumbria and northern Europe in a powerful performance that will bring humour, sadness and even the odd shiver, reminding us that winter is not quite over. Mark this transition of the seasons with the old-fashioned pleasure of getting lost in a good story.
Jessie McMeekin is a storyteller, singer and musician. Since moving to West Cumbria in 2008 she has immersed herself in researching traditional folklore and stories that connect and respond to the Cumbrian landscape of the fells and the coastline. She is passionate about the outdoors and the natural world, local history, arts and culture, and has written and performed in three shows as part of the Arts Out West rural touring scheme.
