St Thomas Pilgrim Community

St Thomas Pilgrim Community We are travellers on a pilgrim journey, exploring together a contemplative walk in the Christian faith.

The Revd Jutta Brueck founded the St Thomas Pilgrim Community, a 'new monastic' community with resident and dispersed members, as part of her vision for St Thomas’ parish and Ipswich, when she became Priest-in-Charge of St Thomas'. The Community started in 2016, with a group of 12 people meeting to pray regularly and one community member moving into St Thomas' Vicarage in the same year. Jutta left

St Thomas' at the beginning of 2021, and Jean Maxwell took over as Prior of the Pilgrim Community, which is now fully non-residential with members in Ipswich, Suffolk and beyond. We continue to meet regularly, both in person and online, for prayer, silence and Dwelling on the Word, as we seek to follow a Rhythm of Life.
