Shiloh Church Ipswich

Shiloh Church Ipswich ABOUT US...

In 2014 Shiloh Church Ipswich celebrated 50 years of service. Shiloh Church was founded in 1963 by Pastor William H. Greenaway.

The congregation comprised mainly of people from the Caribbean who had settled in Ipswich during the 1950's and 1960's. However, today Shiloh is emerging as a vibrant multicultural church with a variety of people from different nations. Following the passing of the late Pastor William H. Greenaway in 2010, Pastor Myrtle White was ordained in 2012. The 50th anniversary was marked with 5 special eve

nts, a celebration for each decade. In April a wonderful Caribbean Tea Party was held at Shiloh attended by the Mayor of Ipswich. On 2nd June a sponsored walk called 'Faith Walk 2014' retraced the journey of our church's early 'meeting places' to our current destination in Vernon Street. On 14th June a Sunday school reunion welcomed the opportunity to bring people together who attended Shiloh's Sunday school over the last five decades. This event was followed by a grand Thanksgiving Service on 13th July in the main hall based at Trinity Park. Finally, from 13th August 'Harbour' - a timeline exhibition, sharing Shiloh's historical journey.
