The next meeting will take place on Friday 5th June at 7.30pm. Jeremy Wilson will present the fourth in a series about the seven churches in the book of Revelation, the church in Pergamos, which marks a turning point from persecution to compromise. Dwelling "where Satan's throne is," it illustrates the dangers of worldly alliance, false teaching, clerical authority, and spiritual corruption. This study will explore the historical Pergamos period, from 312 to 590 AD, the doctrines of Balaam and the Nicolaitans, and the lessons these hold for believers today.

The venue is The Gospel Hall, 120 Kemball Street, Ipswich IP4 5EA. We look forward to seeing you there.

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of John Angliss, who died peacefully yesterday afternoon, Sunday 3rd May, following his battle with cancer.

Until his illness, John and Mary Angliss visited annually when John spoke at the Hephzibah meeting in Ipswich. Their visits to us, remarkable and precious, strengthened the bond of fellowship that exists between like-minded brothers and sisters and we will miss his insight, warmth and humour.

We believe:
• In the inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, as revealed in the Masoretic Text of the Hebrew Bible and the Greek Received Text. [2 Tim 3:16, 2 Pet 1:20-21, 1 Pet 1:24-25]
• In the gospel of Jesus Christ, as the only message of salvation, revealed first to the Jews, and then to the Gentiles. For the sake of the Gentiles, the Jews are temporarily blinded, but will be restored to their Messiah Jesus in the fullness of time. [Rom 1:16, Rom 11:2, 25-26 & 29]
• In the One Triune God, revealed through the persons of the Father, Son/Word and the Holy Spirit. [1 John 5:7]
• In the incarnation of the Second Person of the Trinity, in the Person of Jesus, through the virgin birth, fulfilling the prophecy spoken by Isaiah. [John 1:14, Luke 1:26-35, Matt 1:22-23, Isaiah 7:14]
• In the sinless life, sacrificial death, physical resurrection, ascension and glorification of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is now seated on the right hand of the Father in heaven. [Acts 2:22-24, 31 & 36, Phil 2:10-11]
• In the shedding forth of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, and the perpetuation of the ministry and gifts of the Holy Spirit throughout the Church Age. [Acts 2:33 & 16-17]
• The human race is inherently wicked and thus doomed to eternal punishment in the lake of fire, also known as Hell. [Rom 3:10-11 & 23, 6:23, Rev 20:15 & 10]
• It is only through the blood of the Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, being made effective in one's life, that one can be washed clean of sin and receive the promise of eternal life in heaven. This is accomplished by following Jesus alone, repenting of all sin and believing in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. [John 3:16, Heb 9:27-28, Rom 5:1, Rom 5:9, Heb 9:12, Acts 17:30-31, 16:31]
• In baptism for believers only, by full immersion in water; in the breaking of bread for believers only; in the institution of the Church, the body of Christ, whose sole possessor is its builder - the Lord Jesus Christ. [Matt 28:19, Mark 16:16, 1 Cor 11:23-26, Matt 16:18]
• In the literal gathering of the saints to be with the Lord, His Premillennial return in like manner as was His ascension, and the period of the millennium, which is yet to come. [Acts 1:11, 1 Thess 4:16-17, Rev 20:1-7]
