A Prayer for the New School Year

Almighty God,
As a new school year commences across Ipswich, we pray for all children and young people returning to school. Help them to explore new opportunities, give them confidence in their abilities, and protect them in all that they do.
Be with all Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Staff, Governors and Volunteers as they support and guide our children and young people over the coming year. Strengthen them in their calling, grant them patience and joy in their work, and uphold them when days feel long or challenging.
We pray for the families of Ipswich, for those starting new routines, and for those facing pressures or uncertainty.
May our schools be places of safety, kindness and hope; may classrooms become spaces of discovery, friendship and flourishing; and may this new academic year be filled with new experiences, new friendships, new learning, and the peace which only You can give.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

As wildfires and extreme heatwaves test communities worldwide, these courageous first responders are running toward danger to protect lives, wildlife, and homes. Let us stand together as a global body to pray for their protection, strength, and endurance.

🙏 The Prayer
Heavenly Father, Lord of Heaven and Earth,
We come before You today with united hearts from every corner of the world, lifting up our brave firefighters. As they stand on the front lines against raging flames, smoke, and unpredictable winds, we ask for Your divine intervention.
* Divine Protection: Surround every firefighter with Your hedge of protection. Shield them from extreme heat, falling structures, toxic smoke, and sudden shifts in the fire's path.
* Supernatural Strength & Endurance: Renew their physical bodies when they grow weary. Give them stamina through exhausting, back-to-back shifts and peace of mind amidst high-stress environments.
* Wisdom and Clarity: Grant operational leaders and individual crews instant wisdom. Guide their decisions, tactics, and communication in split-second scenarios to keep everyone safe.
* Peace for Their Families: Comfort the loved ones waiting at home. Calm their anxieties and wrap them in Your perfect peace while their husbands, wives, sons, and daughters serve.
* Restoration for the Land: Lord, we ask that You calm the raging winds and send supernatural, quenching rain to parched lands to assist their efforts.
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray.

Joining those in Hampshire, praying that the wildfire is extinguished safely and quickly. Standing with them.

Prayers for the people of East Tytherley near Romsey who saw this large straw bale fire rip through the area, getting very near to St Peter’s church, yesterday. Huge thanks to the 50 firefighters and local farmers who prevented it from getting a lot worse. Prayers continue…
