This week we will be looking at some of Jesus' teaching about wealth and thinking about what it means to live a rich life.

No junior church this week (starts back next week) but kids always welcome. Our monthly Play Church is also on at 3 in the afternoon.

Play Church is back this Sunday afternoon (6 September) at 3!

Monthly storytelling and drama games for all the family. (You don't need to have a church connection to come along)

Please note this year we are running on the first Sunday of the month until December, then the second Sunday from January to June. There's a handy timetable in the comments to copy and keep.

Morning folks! A wee reminder that it's a five Sunday August this year, so it is still joint worship with and at Inverurie St Andrew's this Sunday (Aug 30th) at 10 am.

We will be back to the West on Sunday 6 September, with worship at our regular time of 11 followed by our monthly Play Church in the afternoon at 3pm.

Warm thanks to everyone for the support and encouragement for our shared ‘services with a difference’ at the West this July.

A reminder to all that the August joint services will be hosted by Inverurie St Andrews and begin at 10am. If you normally join online you can find the services on the St Andrews parish church Inverurie YouTube channel.

All welcome to join us for our last July 'service with a difference' this Sunday at 11 in person or online at https://www.inveruriewestchurch.org/live-stream/ This week we're calling our worship style 'hands-on' church as we use simple materials like paper and pens to think about Jesus calming the storm and how creativity can emerge when order and chaos find a balancing point.

If you're joining us at home, feel free to have some hands-on creative materials to play with during that section of the service. Anything will do -from paper and pens to lego, to your lasted knitting project.

If you're joining us in person, there will be a middle section with the option to move or to stay in your seats. Join in as you feel able and comfortable.

Don't be put off if you don't think of yourself as 'artistic'. We're not all expert singers but this doesn't stop us making a joyful noise together!

After the service this week, any donations towards the fine pieces at hospitality time will go to Christian Aid.

Don't forget, this Saturday is your chance for a wardrobe refresh! Please note that access will be via the side entrance as the cafe will be closed this Saturday (This is due to challenges filling the summer staff/volunteer rota)

There are many things I loved about doing cafe church today. Among them were 1) the many times I heard, ‘we’re having such a great conversation’ as I moved among the tables and 2) the appearance of two Italian tourists at the door during the last hymn who were drawn by the singing, the buzz and the open door. The son spoke English, the mum didn’t. As I explained the set up and showed them around, he translated her comment that this was ‘much better than the way we do church at home which is very boring!’

Plus, we had cake and you have to love that. Thanks again folks!

All welcome to join us for our third 'July service with a difference' at 11 am this Sunday. This week we are trying out what is sometimes called 'cafe church' (an informal style of intergenerational worship) as we gather in...er.. our cafe! For those who don't know our space this is the ground floor level of our building, with our sanctuary upstairs)

There will be tea, coffee, fine pieces, conversation and worship all woven together as we use the story of Zacchaeus to help us think about inclusion and exclusion and whether our way of doing and being 'church' is as welcoming and inclusive as it could be.

If the idea of church has always seemed a little intimidating to you because you aren't sure what you are 'supposed' to do or know, this might be the week to try it as we figure things out together.

All going well, folks will also be able to join us as usual online at https://www.inveruriewestchurch.org/live-stream/ Fingers crossed the technology our valiant team have rigged up downstairs will work!
