Today we celebrated Fr Alex’s fifth anniversary as Vicar of St Margaret’s. The churchwardens thanked him for his ministry and presented him with the gift of a new cassock; and expressed our hope for many more years to come. Thank you, Fr, for your love and care for us.

While on holiday in Normandy, Fr Alex was delighted to find this 15th Century statue of Ste Marguerite (et le dragon!) in the beautiful little church of Saint-Sauveur in Petit-Andelys. Prayers and thanksgivings were offered for all connected with our beautiful big church of St Margaret in Ilkley.

Organ Recital Friday 4 September, 12.30 pm
We welcome back Gabrielle Lewis, who has played at St Margaret's on a few occasions before and is always welcome. Her programme includes music by 17th and 18th German composers Buxtehude and Böhm, a selection of hymn tune preludes by Ian Curror, Malcolm Archer and Timothy Noon and a ‘Grand Cortège’ by Edwin Lemare, a 19th/20th century British virtuoso organist/composer. Entry is free with a retiring collection for St Margaret's Organ Restoration Fund. All welcome
