St Georges Church Hyde

St Georges Church Hyde Welcome to the St George's Parish Church Hyde page, we're so pleased you stopped by. We offer a variety of worship styles on Sunday mornings.

Like all church families we are a very mixed bunch but the thing that glues us together is the love of Christ for each and everyone of us without exception. The 9:15am service is traditional with hymns sung to organ accompaniment and both Prayer Book and Common Worship liturgy. The 10:45am service is much more contemporary in style with more modern worship songs, led by a music group and a much gr

eater degree of informality all round. It’s alongside this later service that we run our Sunday School for Primary School aged children. We have ramped access to the building, a loop system for those with hearing aids, large print service orders and toilet and baby changing facilities on site. If you would like to make a donation to support the work of St George's within our community, this can now be done through the Givealittle platform at: https://givealittle.co/campaigns/76506b5d-f45b-4c0a-a32d-4cec9d60dbca

Thank you for logging on to our page and we hope to see you soon.

Happy Pentecost!
We had this day brought to life with a science experiment this morning! We thought about how the Holy Spirit transforms the ordinary to be extraordinary.
It was also great to welcome children into our church family at baptism.

We are so looking forward to our services on Sunday as we celebrate Pentecost and would love you to join us!

Not been to church before? No worries, everyone is welcome. πŸ™‚

9.15am - A quieter, more traditional service. Perfect for those seeking God in moments of calm and reflection.

10.45am - A more relaxed service with a bit of noise! And probably some chaos.. πŸ˜† This week we have some baptisms. And the promise of a (definitely!) don't try this at home science demo from our resident scientist to help us think about how the followers of Jesus experienced the first Pentecost...! πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

See you then?

Thanks to the generosity of the Scientists in Congregations project at ECLAS, we have received funding of just over Β£8.5k to set up a monthly Science Club in Hyde, starting from September. This will be for those in school years 5-7.

We will also be hosting a whole bunch of other exciting science-themed events for our wider town and community over the next year as part of this.

We are so excited to get started on this and will have more details of both these and the Club itself soon, so watch this space.

ECLAS and the Scientists in Congregations grant programme are funded by the John Templeton Foundation

Fifteen churches and Christian organisations have been awarded nearly Β£300,000
