It was wonderful to see so many of our congregation gather again for our first service of the year earlier this month…

Firstly, we wanted to say a huge thank you to Rev Stephen March, pictured in the middle. He is moving on to pastures new 🇫🇷 and so this was his last service preaching at Knaptoft. We are so very grateful for his years of support for our church, and he goes with our prayers.

Also, Rachel, pictured on the right, is the Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Grandaughter (I hope we got that right!) of Rev John Moore, Rector of Knaptoft 1638, and Lutterworth 1647; this was during the time that the Church became Church Ruins, when it was pulled down by Oliver Cromwell’s Roundheads chasing King Charles I’s Cavaliers after the Battle of Naesby in 1645. Her father, pictured on the left, was kind enough to bring along his family tree! What an amazing story, and we were delighted to have two more Moore generations in the walls!

Our next service is at 3pm on 20th July. We hope to see you there!
