God of mercy and compassion,
We give thanks for the continued presence of your Church
in its many different forms, expressions and traditions,
at the heart of local communities,
close to home, and all around the world.
May that presence be a source of hope, support and encouragement
in times of suffering and uncertainty,
offering welcome, hospitality and the joy of connection and belonging
to those who need it most.
Strengthen our commitment to the work of Christian unity so that together we can better serve a wounded world,
in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

At the start of a new year!

At the start of a new year!

In our joys and in our sorrows, days of toil and hours of ease,
Still he calls, in cares and pleasures, Christian, love me more than these.” (StF 250 v. 4)

The Conference, the Connexional Council, the District Chairs and the Warden of the Diaconal Order have heard your call, Risen Shepherd of the Church. Guide and direct them, we pray, that in their discerning and their decisions they may love you above all else. Loving you, may they follow wherever you lead, giving themselves away in your service. Through their self-giving, may your people be nourished, and through the flourishing of the Church, may your glory be revealed. Amen.

Prayer inspired by Singing the Faith (StF) 250 v. 4 and John 21:15–19

From 7 September for around three months, the entrance to our Emergency Department (ED) will temporarily move as part of ongoing improvement works.

This temporary arrangement will allow essential work to continue safely while the ED remains open and providing care. Clear signs will be in place and our way finders will be on hand to help patients and visitors find their way, including those attending Paediatric ED.

While the works are taking place, there will be some additional constraints around the ED and main entrance. Where possible, please limit the number of people accompanying patients, avoid using the area immediately outside the ED and main entrance for drop-offs and, if you need to drop someone off, continue further along the road past the ED and main entrance to help reduce congestion.

Our patient buggy service can also be used where appropriate to support people with reduced mobility travelling between the car parks and hospital entrance.
Please also remember that The QEH is a smokefree site and smoking is not permitted anywhere within the hospital grounds.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and support while we make these important improvements to our Emergency Department for patients and families.

The Emergency Department remains open throughout the works.

Pray with us today.

Lord of all creation, you have written our story with hands of grace. Every chapter filled with mercy. Every verse a melody of love. May our lives sing of your faithfulness. Let our story be a testament of your goodness and our song a sweet offering before your throne. You weave sorrow in strands of gold, turning burdens into blessings unseen. Teach us to sing through every season, to trust when the road is steep, to know that your goodness is the chorus that carries us home.

You, O Lord, are our keeper, our composer, our strength, our song. To you be all the glory, forever and ever.
