It’s this Saturday! The Hullavington Church Fête and dog show is a lovely way to spend a (hopefully🤞) sunny afternoon.

There are activities for all ages, home-made crafts and lovely food and drink on offer. There are fun classes for dogs, a bouncy castle for children and a tug of war (best not get them confused!).

We’d still appreciate cake donations if you have time please - either to #43 The Street on Friday evening or on Saturday morning to the Fête. The raffle, tombola and silent auction (already open for bids) have particularly good items on offer - many thanks to those that have generously donated and to everyone who has helped to put this lovely event together.

Please bring cash (not card), there is free parking at the Village Hall just round the corner. Enjoy a chilled glass of Pimms and join in the fun. 😎

It’s fast approaching - 8th June, Hullavington Church Fete and Dog Show!

Among the things on offer during the day are some really great items in the silent auction - please have a look at the list below which includes something for every kind of interest and taste. You don’t have to wait for the day, details of how to bid are on the photo below.

There’s also a raffle with a top prize of £100. We’re incredibly grateful to our generous donors and sponsors for their support - thank you!

Please note it’s a cash only day (no cards). The ‘church mice’ have been beavering away in the background getting things ready - if you look carefully you might spot a few in the windows of The Street in Hullavington - they’ll be among some of the lovely hand made crafts on offer.

Congratulations to Sharon Gleed who is due to be ordained as priest in the Gauzebrook Benefice in July. Here is her story:

"Prior to my ordination as deacon, I reflected on God’s faithfulness throughout my life and this truth strengthened me as I prepared for the next step in my journey.

As I look back on the past year, God’s faithfulness has continued - guiding, strengthening, equipping and providing for me. I have moved from urban life into rural ministry and grown in my role through the generous welcome and support of the eight communities in the Gauzebrook group, along with the continued support of my family, friends and past church communities. My love and thanks to all of you for the part you play in my story. My curacy has been a daily blessing to me and I feel affirmed in the vocation into which I have been called. As I prepare to be priested, I ‘give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever’ Psalm 106:1."

We are getting very excited about the Church Fete and Dog Show on Saturday 10th June - not long to go now!

It'll open at 1pm but early entry from 12.45pm for those wanting to register for the dog show.

Dog show classes start from 1.30pm and the agility ring will be open all afternoon. Best in Show with the class winners will be at 3.30pm

Scrummy bbq lunch options with ice creams for pud and then cream teas. Drinks options will include Pimms and Cordial, Flying Monk Beer and soft drinks.

For the children - we have lots of fun games, treasure hunt and bouncy castle. Cain the treasured pony will make an appearance for patting but has retired from doing pony rides. We'll have children's races and of course the annual tug of war for everyone to join in with.

Lots of stalls including fresh produce and delicious home baked goodies, tombola.

This year we also have Guess the Date for £1- to win a meal at the Salutation Inn and Guess the Birthday for £1 to win the Teddy.

Our Silent Auction Prizes are incredible - put in a slip with your highest bid and you might be the lucky winner!

Do invite friends and family. Bring cash to spend. We are can't wait to see you all.

If you're wondering what you can do to help - we would love donations of bottles and gifts for the tombola, baked goodies and home grown produce and we'd love to borrow a couple of gazebos. Helpers on the Friday and Saturday for carrying chairs and tables would also be hugely appreciated.
