Whoever you are, whatever circumstances you are in - you are WELCOME and you MATTER here. At HBC we are passionate about worshipping God, which results in Mission, Discipleship, and Social Action in our building and beyond. We want to see God’s Kingdom come in Horley, where that which is broken is restored to fullness. We want to be known as a Beacon of Hope - a light that cannot be hidden or cont

ained. That through us [corporately and individually] God will bless our town and beyond as we minister in love and mercy.

So many of us feel like we are always chasing the next thing.

Another task. Another notification. Another improvement. Better health, better parenting, better work, better everything — and yet underneath it all, we can still feel stuck.

The Christian story says God is not finished with us.

The Holy Spirit is God’s presence with us now, shaping ordinary, unfinished lives — and leading us towards hope.

You are not finished yet.

Yesterday’s message closed the series with this encouragement: "you are not finished yet".

The Christian story says God is not only above us or behind us — by the Holy Spirit, God is present and at work in ordinary, unfinished lives right now.

If you missed the sermon, watch the full message online and try this prayer this week: *Holy Spirit, make Jesus real to me today. Lead me to one step of obedience.*

We're proud to say 'Everyone is Welcome', 'Lives are Changing', and 'Jesus is King' here at HBC. (It's now literally written on the walls!)

Tasks of the day involved problem-solving, Scaffolding, Banners, Projectors, nuts, bolts and screws ... what a day!

Huge thanks to all involved!

Christianity is not just a set of ideas.

At its centre is a claim about something that happened: Jesus suffered, died, was buried — and Christians believe he rose again.

That claim changes everything. The cross says our brokenness can be forgiven. The resurrection says death does not get the final word.

If Jesus is alive, he is not just a figure from the past. He changes how we see our past, face the future, and live today.

Yesterday we reflected on the difference between knowing about Jesus and knowing Jesus.

Questions matter. Study matters. But Christians believe Jesus died, was buried, and rose again — and if that is true, it changes everything: hope, forgiveness, life, and the future.

Catch up with the full sermon online and consider one step you could take towards Jesus this week.

Most religious leaders point away from themselves.

Jesus said, “Come to me.”

That is what makes him so hard to ignore. Christians do not simply believe Jesus was a good teacher or inspiring example. We believe that, in Jesus, God came near — to show us what he is like, how much he loves us, and what it means to follow him.

If you have ever wondered what God is really like, Jesus is the place Christians look.

Power often creates distance.

The more powerful someone is, the less accessible they usually become. But the Christian faith begins with a surprising claim: God is not just Almighty — he is Father Almighty.

His power does not cancel his love. It makes his love dependable.

If life feels random, lonely, or too heavy to carry, this message explores what it could mean to be created, known, and held by God.

Yesterday we explored what it means to call God Father Almighty— not distant power, but personal, dependable love.

So often, power creates distance. But the Christian story tells us that the Creator of everything is also Father: close, kind, and strong enough to carry what we cannot.

What if the things you believe are not strong enough to carry the weight of real life?

We all put our trust somewhere — in progress, justice, family, hope, ourselves, or something bigger. But when life gets hard, the real question is not just *what do I want to believe?* It is: *is it true?*

This week we begin **This Is What We Believe**, exploring why Christians have built their lives on the ancient words of the Apostles’ Creed — and why they still matter today.
