What a beautiful afternoon in Llangefni! Parishioners from across our island gathered in St Joseph’s Church, Llangefni for a Barbecue Lunch 🥗🍗

Christian Aid Service

Yesterday’s Christian Aid School’s Service hosted by Cytûn Caergybi in St Mary’s, Holyhead.

A great celebration for Christian Aid attended by Schools across Ynys Cybi - coming together as one for a good cause.

Led by Debs from New Park Street Baptist Church and Llinos our Christian Aid Community Coordinator in North Wales.

The finished piece… a Mustard Tree

Our Faith in Action Secondary group with their finished project, turning our Cross into a tree.

But why a Mustard Tree in particular?

In the Bible we hear the parable Jesus tells the disciples comparing the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed.

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” Matthew 13:31-32

So we are celebrating that from the tiniest seed can become something big. From our small actions, like painting a leaves, we can grow, forming a tree.

Last week our Faith in Action Secondary group got a little messy! Together they painted and hand printed to turn our Cross into something special for yesterday’s Christian Aid Schools Service.

First Holy Communion

Today, on the day when the Church celebrates the Holy Eucharist and the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) it was such a privilege to have 8 children make their First Holy Communion.

Our Provincial Superior, Fr Lorcan, from the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate was kindly able to celebrate this special Mass with us.

Afterwards we shared food and a wonderful cake, iced with the names of the 8 candidates and they were all presented with rosaries, made by Fr Godfrey's mother.
