St Mark's Church Hitchin

St Mark's Church Hitchin St Mark’s Church is a vibrant and growing Church of England family with members from across the generations. We have a new vicar, Rev Maxine Howarth.

We are located north east of the town center, off the A600, and serve primarily the Bearton and Westmill wards, although anyone is welcome! We love to welcome people of all backgrounds and ages to journey with us in faith, or learning about Jesus and all that his love means to us. If you would like to join us and have never been to church before, do please message this page and we can arrange for

someone to meet you outside and show you around. To contact us via email please use our [email protected] address, for pastoral matters, or if you would like to discuss a life event eg baptism, do email our vicar direct at [email protected]. She leads a team of Lay Readers and Lay Leaders, so you get to hear from lots of different voices. Our volunteers are all DBS checked and run groups for young people, for children, and for preschool ages. Our Little Lions Parent and Baby/Toddler group is a good way of getting to know other families in the area. We encourage anyone who wants to, to join in, to lead, to plan, or to organise activities and events. We all have gifts to use and to share. We have Sunday services at 8am (Said Communion) and 10am (Sung Communion, except for the 3rd Sunday of the Month when we have an All Age Service at 10am followed by a Said Communion at 11.15am. We also have Morning Prayer every Wednesday at 9.15am and Messy Church which usually meets at 4pm on the 1st Sunday of the Month. Do please keep an eye on this page and our website for more information.

4 more amazing gower churches visited yesterday. Prayers offered for the RNLI crew at Port Eynon as they returned from a missing person call. A chance encounter with a stranger resulting in a lift to solve our car issue and daily offices done with joyful hearts.
