Clare, our Head of Education, has written this prayer for everyone going back to school today.

We pray for all pupils, parents, teachers and staff returning for the new term.

Text- Heavenly Father,
As we come to the start of a new academic year, we thank you for the past weeks of rest, relaxation and the time spent with family and friends.

Lord God, we pray for students, teachers and all those who are preparing for the next step on their journey, whether it be to the next class, a new school, college or university. Help them to know that they are not alone and that you will be with them always. Give them confidence to embrace new opportunities and courage to face new challenges, safe in the knowledge that you will sustain them. Lord, calm the anxieties of parents and families at this time. Enfold them in your love and assurance.

Father, we pray for all those who work in our schools and care for young people, that they may continue to hold the light of learning high for all to follow. We pray that by working together with children, families and the community, and guided by your love, they may enable all to flourish together both in learning and in faith.

We offer this prayer in the name of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ,

The next Cynon Calling is fast approaching! A couple of small changes:
- We are meeting a week early due to a clash with the oridinations. So please note the date of 22nd June.
- We will be meeting in St Fagan’s Church Hall this month.
- We will be meeting at the earlier time of 4pm where we will be having a bbq.
-The service will start at 5:30
- We will be joined by Archdeacon Mark Preece

Bishop Mary is delighted to announce that the Rev’d Anne-Marie Renshaw is to be Archdeacon of Morgannwg.

Anne-Marie is currently Team Rector of the benefice of Thurstable and Winstree in the Diocese of Chelmsford.

She has an extensive track record of engaged pastoral ministry in large teams and experience in a broad range of church and community life.

Anne Marie is looking forward to coming to Wales and being nearer to her mother, who lives in Powys. She will be moving to the diocese to take up her new post in September and we look forward to introducing her and her family more fully to the diocese.
