General information

The chapel itself is a registered "Historic Building Grade II". The congregation dates back to 1662 when Rev. Thomas Leadbetter was 'ejected' from the local parish church under the Act of Uniformity for failing to use the Anglican Book of Common Prayer. Services were held illegally until 1672 when "toleration" allowed a private house to be registered for worship
