🍂 What a wonderful Autumn Coffee Morning...and a little reflection on generosity ❤️

What struck us most about yesterday’s Autumn Coffee Morning was generosity. And it came in so many different forms.

🍰 It was in the wonderful homemade cakes people had taken the time to bake.
☕ It was in everyone who gave their time to set up, serve, welcome, wash up and clear away.
❤️ It was in all those who came along to support us and in those lovely little moments at the cake stall when someone was handed their change and simply said, “Keep it – it’s a donation.”

The Bible tells us:

“God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:7

Yesterday, there seemed to be cheerful givers everywhere.

Some gave their time. Some baked. Some served. Some supported us with their donations. And some simply came through the door, stayed for a chat and helped make St Michael’s feel like the warm, welcoming little community we want it to be.

So today, we’re feeling very grateful.

From all of us at St Michael and All Angels – thank you. ❤️

Lots of people, each contributing a little something, made yesterday possible.

And perhaps that’s rather what community is all about. ❤️

We’ll be doing it all again at our next Coffee Morning on Saturday 5th December. 🎄☕
Is it too early to mention mince pies? Probably. But we’re mentioning them anyway 😉

☕🍰 We’re here – and there’s still time to join us!

Our Autumn Coffee Morning is in full swing at St Michael and All Angels, Himley, and we’re here until 2pm.

There’s still plenty of homemade cake, tea and coffee – and the beautiful Earls of Dudley Memorial Garden is open too, one of only four opportunities each year to visit. 🌿

If you’re wondering what to do with your Saturday afternoon, pop in and see us. We’d love a few more friendly faces! ❤️

Thinking about getting married at St Michael's? ⛪💍

Our Coffee Morning on Saturday 12th September could be the perfect opportunity to come and have a little look around☕

St Michael's is a very special place to get married – a beautiful historic church surrounded by stunning grounds, including our lovely Memory Garden. 🌿

Choosing a church for your wedding is about more than photographs, though. Sometimes you simply need to stand inside, look around and get a feel for the place.

Our Coffee Morning gives you the chance to do exactly that. No appointment, no pressure and no need to make any decisions – just pop in, have a coffee and some homemade cake, wander around the church and grounds, and see whether you can imagine your wedding here. ❤️

And if you have any questions, there'll be people around who will be happy to help!

And... it's Ride + Stride day too! 🚲🥾☕

There's another reason to pop along to our Coffee Morning on Saturday 12th September – it also happens to be Ride and Stride Staffordshire day too!

Never heard of Ride + Stride? It's a brilliant annual event that sees people walking and cycling between churches, raising money to help preserve and support our wonderful historic church buildings along the way.

It's a chance to get out and about, discover churches you may never have visited before and help ensure these special places remain at the heart of their communities for years to come.

And if your Ride + Stride route happens to bring you to St Michael and All Angels, Himley... well, you've chosen a very good day to visit! 😄

We'll have the kettle on, homemade cakes at the ready and a warm welcome waiting for you. ☕🍰
