Big congrats to the Anahilt Bowls Club who got to the final of the Lisburn District Charity against Derryvolgie last night and won it - see the Rose Bowl!

Great achievement for the club.

A few snaps from today’s dedication of our new Church Play Area.

We would like to also publicly thank:

Haffey Playgrounds
Harry Ferguson Memorial Pipe Band
And the huge team who helped make this happen.

We trust this will be an area for boys and girls to come to for years to have fun, but most importantly come to know the Lord & Saviour.

Our GB have their Display this week - what a great night to come support the girls!

✨Annual GB Display ✨

You are warmly invited to our Annual Display and Prize Evening on 18th March at 7pm. Come along and enjoy a special evening celebrating the girls’ achievements throughout the year.
All proceeds raised will go to Kids4School a charity supporting underprivileged children in Tanzania. Through their work, children are able to attend school, receive a school uniform, enjoy a hot meal each day, and have access to clean drinking water. Kids4School supports the children not only in their physical needs but also in their spiritual and evangelical needs.

Everyone is very welcome!
Supper will be provided afterwards.

*Anahilt Morning Service TOMORROW* is cancelled.

Some members of our Session & Committee were at the church tonight, and the Windmill Road/ car park are covered in pure ice. With more snow forecast tomorrow, and temperatures to stay -2 until Noon, we are very regretfully deciding to cancel it now.

God Bless everyone this week and looking forward to gathering next Sunday 11th with our good friend Rev Leslie Patterson.

We were all set with festive coloured lights before the service yet at 3.30 on the dot the electric went out on the Windmill Road.

Not to be deterred we continued with (iPhone) torches at the ready, experiencing our Meeting House much like the time of our Victorian ancestors who sang the (then modern!) carols.

Great atmosphere all the more and thanks to everyone who helped and came.

This Christmas may be a time of great joy as we proclaim some of the great Carols like the lyrics of the one below:

Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Risen with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the new-born king"

Yet for others this a time of sadness to reflect on those in hospital; or struggling with illness at home; or considering a year of unfulfilled dreams and hopes; or even gazing at the empty chair across the table.

As you read this post, our prayer from everyone at Anahilt congregation, is that you may know the ‘peace that surpasses all understanding’ through considering the first earthly coming of Jesus Christ.

We look forward to a day of no more sorrow, or mourning, or crying, or pain, for those former things have passed away and everything becomes new.
