Wycombe Islamic Mission and Mosque Trust has as its main objective the promotion of the religion of Islam in High Wycombe through peaceful and appropriate means which it has done successfully. Its purposes are to provide a place of worship for Muslims in High Wycombe by providing suitable facilities; the advancement of education connected to Islam and teaching of the Holy Qur’an, Islamic studies a

nd various languages to children, women and local Muslim community. Further to provide a place for religious festivals, weddings, funerals and the performance of all other Islamic rituals. Moreover, the promotion of brotherhood within the Muslim community as well as to promote interaction and friendly relations with members of others faiths and all residents of High Wycombe is an underlying purpose. Imam Sultan Mahmood Al-Azhari has been the Imam in the mosque since its opening. Educated in the UK, Pakistan and Egypt, he is fluent in Arabic, English and Urdu.

Prostate Cancer Awareness Seminar

On Sunday 12th April, a prostate cancer awareness seminar was hosted at Townfield Mosque.

The session covered key areas including how prostate cancer develops, risk factors and those most at risk, early signs and symptoms to look out for, the importance of regular check-ups, ways to reduce risk, and the treatment options available.

It was an informative session that emphasised the importance of awareness and open discussion.

Many thanks to everyone who attended and took part in the discussion.
