🎙️I WAS HUNGRY AND YOU FED ME, THIRSTY AND YOU GAVE ME DRINK
The scripture above refers to extending care to others especially those of the house hold of faith as God enriches His children in every way for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving.

The scripture says,

‘Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed.’ Pro 19:17

‘When you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.’ Luke 14:13-14

‘Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.’ Luke 3:11

‘Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.’ James 1:27

However, there is a hunger and thirst in man that only God can satisfy for example Jesus Himself said, man is not suppose to live by physical food only.

Some attempt to fill ‘the void’ with pleasures, others stop at meeting their physical need only but man needs more to live, whether He realises it or not, He needs every word from God.

Little wonder Jesus describes Himself as the bread of life.

He said,

‘I am the BREAD of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.’ John 6:35

The scripture says, ‘He satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul He fills with good things’. Psalm 107:9

Even the woman at the well thought she wanted mere water intially, she challenged Jesus saying,

‘Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock.’

But Jesus said to her,

“Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”John 4:11-14

🧶Our key text from Matthew 25 describes when all nations will be gathered before God, He separates sheep from goat. He will say to those on His right hand ( v34b - 35a )

‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry abd you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink;

“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? v37

And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ v40

We should provide physical food and water to others as God makes available, take a moment also to ponder on scriptures that speak of spiritual food and water too,

Psalm 34:8 calls us to taste, it says,

‘Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good’.

Tasting is one of the main ways we experience the flavour of food, in other words taste the bread of life!

Another scripture talks about hunger and thirst, being led to springs of living water beyond natural water or physical food. It says,

‘They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water’. Rev 7:16-17a

🧶 As we minister to the needs of the saints, minister by the Spirit, not by letters that kills.
Jesus speaking to Jewish religious leaders who challenged Him after He healed a man on the Sabbath, calling God His Father said,

‘You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me’. John 5:39

He said the scriptures point to me 👉🏻 the living bread, the living word.

Don’t minister letters but life by the Spirit.

‘He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.’ 2 Corinthians 3:6

Even Jesus ministered by the Spirit, He was driven by the Spirit, He always sought a solidarity place to commune with the Father. He didn’t offer us letters but Himself.

‘How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with Him’. Acts 10:38

Can God say to us, I was hungry (His brethren) and you actually fed me, thirsty and you gave me drink?

Ponder.

🎙️FAITH THAT WORKS (2)
~ Word-Triggered Faith
The faith that works is word triggered faith.
God’s Word is the foundation upon which faith is built.
Word lazy believers cannot develop strong faith because faith grows from hearing and hearing the Word of God.

Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

God confirms the Word that we believe. When His Word becomes our conviction, heaven backs it up with divine confirmation.

Luke 1:45 “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

The Word you continually give attention to will ultimately shape your life.
Whatever fills your heart will eventually influence your thoughts, words, actions, and outcomes.
Therefore let this verse be your life style in Colossians 3:16

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom...”*

The faith that works is also a ‘Heart-Rooted Faith’.

Hebrews 4:2 and Mark 11:23 reveal that faith must take root in the heart.

Head knowledge alone cannot produce miracles.
Faith must move beyond information and become revelation within your spirit.

Hebrews 4:2 says, “For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.”

When God’s Word is deeply rooted in your heart, doubt loses its grip and confidence in God grows stronger.

Mark 11:23 says, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”

Get the Word from your mind into your heart (your spirit) by allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth behind the Word as you meditate on the Word.

: I receive grace to habitually feed my spirit with the Word of God so that it would dwell in my heart richly in all wisdom and strengthen my faith, in Jesus name Amen.

🎙️FAITH THAT WORKS
Faith is not a religious feeling or wishful thinking.
It is a divine conviction born from God’s Word.
‘So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.’Romans 10:17

Faith is being fully persuaded that what God has said, He is able and willing to perform.
Abraham had this kind of persuasion in Romans 4:22 ‘ and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.’

Faith creates godly desires because it is drawn from the Word. As we meditate on God’s promises, our hearts begin to desire what He desires for us.

Faith destroys fear because fear cannot survive where God’s truth is firmly established.
When faith is present, rest becomes evident. A believer who truly trusts God is not anxious or troubled, but rests confidently in God’s faithfulness.
‘For we which have believed do enter into rest..’
Hebrews 4:3

Faith makes it possible to receive answers to prayer. It is the channel through which we receive from God.
‘I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.’
Mark 11:24

No situation is irreversible when genuine faith is at work. What appears impossible to man is possible with God through faith.
‘But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.””
Mark 10:27

And when Faith comes alive, corresponding action is inevitable
“Can’t you see how his action cooperated with his faith and by his action faith found its full expression?” James 2:22 TPT

‘For just as a human body without the spirit is a dead co**se, so faith without the expression of good works is dead!” James 2:26 TPT

The Faith That Works is a “Personally Built Faith”

The faith that produces results is personally built faith. In Mark 6:5-6, Jesus was limited by the unbelief of the people.
You cannot depend on another person’s faith for your breakthrough. While others can encourage you, your own faith must be developed through a personal relationship with God and His Word.

If you do not feed your faith, it will weaken and eventually die. Faith grows through consistent exposure to God’s Word.
Another person’s unbelief cannot stop your faith from working if your confidence remains rooted in God and on His Word.

Your walk with God must be personal. Those who go far in faith and command supernatural results, are those who take personal responsibility for their spiritual growth!

: I receive grace to build my faith for greater supernatural results. I receive grace to take personal responsibility for my development and engage strongly with God’s Word in Jesus name Amen.
