Welcome Back!

We hope you all had an amazing summer, filled with lots of fun, laughter and special memories with friends and family.

It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back! We’ve already been greeted by so many excited, happy faces, and it’s fantastic to see the learning, exploring and fun already happening in our classrooms — and it’s only Day 2!

We’re so excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things our children will learn, achieve and experience together.

We couldn't let the school year end without sharing this fantastic Accelerated Reader achievement with you.

It's wonderful to see that reading is such an important part of life at St Michael's Primary, with a genuine passion and love of books being nurtured and passed on to our pupils every day.

This is especially meaningful as 2026 is the National Year of Reading, making this achievement an even greater celebration of the reading culture we are so proud to foster within our school community.

As we reach the end of another wonderful school year, we would also like to take this opportunity to wish you all a fantastic summer. We hope you enjoy making special memories and spending quality time with your family and friends.

We would like to thank our families for their continued support, encouragement, and engagement throughout the year. Your partnership plays such an important role in our school community, and we truly appreciate it.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September, refreshed and ready for another exciting year of learning together.

From laughter and smiles to tears, hugs, and handshakes...

Our Year 6 Leavers' Assembly was an unforgettable celebration filled with pride, memories, and emotion. We laughed, we reflected, and yes, there were plenty of tears as we said goodbye to an incredible group of children.

We are so proud of everything they have achieved and can't wait to see all they accomplish in the future. Wishing each and every one of our Year 6 pupils the very best as they begin their next adventure.

Our End of Year Assembly would not be complete without celebrating some of the achievements of our wonderful primary children. We were delighted to present three Mission Awards, recognising resilience, determination, and achievement throughout the year. We also celebrated our fantastic Chess Team, whose dedication and outstanding performances have made us incredibly proud. Congratulations to all of our award winners!

What an action-packed day of teamwork, laughter and unforgettable memories at our We're a Knock Out! Whole School Celebration Day!

Our pupils (and staff!) took part in exciting challenges, friendly competitions, problem-solving activities and leadership tasks designed to:
🤝 Strengthen relationships
💬 Improve communication
⭐ Build confidence and teamwork
🎯 Create a supportive, energetic school community

Our playground was buzzing with excitement as the ice cream van paid us a special visit today! There were huge smiles all around as our children and staff enjoyed a well-earned ice cream treat in the sunshine. Moments like these make wonderful memories and bring our community together.

Our Year 5 pupils had a fantastic day exploring Cotswolds Farm Park!

They enjoyed seeing a wide variety of amazing animals, learning about habitats, conservation, and the importance of protecting wildlife around the world.

The children represented the school brilliantly with their enthusiasm, curiosity, and excellent behaviour throughout the day. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as they discovered new facts and created lasting memories together.

Today, our Year 6 pupils gathered for their Leavers’ Retreat, reflecting on what it means to be courageous as they prepare for their new journeys into secondary schools.

They shared affirmations, spoke honestly about their hopes and worries, and treasured the memories they’ve made together. Through small acts of gratitude and a thoughtful Q&A with Year 9 pupils, they looked ahead with growing confidence.

We ended with a beautiful, child-led liturgy. A special and heartfelt moment to mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.

On Friday we celebrated our wonderful nursery graduates and all they have achieved. Watching them grow in confidence, curiosity, and kindness has been a true privilege.

Lights, camera... creativity! 🎬✨

During Arts Week this week, each year group explored a different film as the inspiration for their learning. From music and art to design and drama, our classrooms were bursting with imagination, collaboration, and creativity. We are so proud of the fantastic work our pupils produced throughout the week! A hilarious and emotional performance of ‘I’m an 11 Year Old... Get Me Out of Here!’ from our amazing Year 6 pupils! They had everyone laughing one moment and wiping away tears the next.

With hilarious trials, exciting challenges and heartfelt retrospective snapshots of the wild and wonderful experiences of being an 11-year-old, this musical was the perfect way to celebrate the end of their primary school journey.

We are so incredibly proud of each and every one of them and all they have achieved during their time at St Michael’s. As they beautifully sang in their performance:

"We walked through those big old doors, at just the age of four. Now we're sad to say, we can't be here anymore."

What a wonderful way to mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. We wish all of our Year 6 leavers every success and happiness as they move on to their next adventure—you will always be part of the St Michael's family.
