This Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent.

Our Service Times are:
11am Mass & Imposition of Ashes at Hickleton Parish Churchn
12noon Mass & Imposition of Ashes at St Andrew’s Bolton-upon Dearne
7pm Solemn Mass & Imposition of Ashes at Goldthorpe

On Fridays throughout Lent, we will also be walking with the Lord at 6pm at Goldthorpe, in a simple yet deeply beautiful service of the Stations of the Cross. As we move through the church, we pause at each of our striking panels depicting Our Lord’s journey, reflecting on each moment, the human emotions He may have experienced, and what these scenes mean for us today.
We travel with Christ from Pontius Pilate’s washing of his hands at the trial, through the Crucifixion, and finally to the tender image of Our Lady laying her Son in the tomb. The service is interspersed with music and lasts around 30 minutes.

****NEW for 2026****

At S. Wilfrids we are look at different ways we can can do things. A big one is that we are piloting changing the time of our Sunday Service. The last Sunday of each month (so THIS SUNDAY), we are changing the time to 3PM.

We are also making a few changes to the feel of the service and following it there will be refreshments.

Sung Mass 7pm at Goldthorpe Parish Church.

Happy New year to all.

Our first Mass of 2026 will be at 10am at S. Wilfrids Parish Church, Hickleton.

Jan 1st, is the 8th Day of Christmas and the intention is Mary, Mother of God.

We pray particularly at this Mass for her prayers and protection through the coming year, while giving thanks for the birth of her Son.
