As you will likely know already, we are looking for someone to take on the baton of this lovely building to give it a new lease of life.

FAQs we have been asked so far:

Q. Can't it just be given away for a new purpose?
A. In short, no. St James' Church is a charity and the sale of the building comes under charity law. This means we need to make sure we sell the building for a fair price which reflects its independent valuation.

Q. I thought it was going to continue to be a community centre?
A. We have had several conversations about this and would love to see it happen but haven't received any offers to date. We are certainly still open to this possibility.

Please be very careful if you are joining is this morning - there is fresh snow on the lane with some grit down at the junction with Heap Brow but the rest of the lane is untreated and very slippy.

Morning everyone, our lovely warden Nigel Gerrard at St George's Church, Heap Bridge has been up this morning and church is accessible so we will be there for our joint service at 10.30am if you are able to join us. If you are worried about walking or travelling in the snow please stay home and stay safe. See you soon.

We have two special services this week, both at St Margaret's.

For our morning service, we invite Rev Blayze White to preach as part of our continued work as Churches Together in Heywood.

Our evening service is a special service for Baby Loss Awareness week at 6.30pm for anyone who has been affected by Child bereavement.
