Join us for worship this Sunday at 4pm

During our worship at the moment, we’re spending time around God’s Word together, using Lectio Divina to read, reflect and discuss Scripture.

Last Sunday, Jess facilitated our conversation around Acts 2:42–47, looking at the life of the early church and what we can learn from it today.

This week, Jason will be facilitating as we explore Luke 10:25–37 — the Good Samaritan, thinking together about what it really means to be a neighbour.

Whether you’re completely new to the Bible or have been reading it for years, you are more than welcome. There’s no pressure to speak — come, listen, reflect and join in as much as you feel comfortable.

🎉 Congratulations to Ryan and Stephen! 🎉

A huge well done to Ryan Williams and Stephen Castelow, who have both successfully completed their Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene training.

Ryan and Stephen, who both have additional needs, have worked incredibly hard to achieve this qualification. It will support them in their volunteering with our weekly Lunch Club and other community activities, and we’re so proud of all they continue to achieve.

At Hexham Salvation Army, we believe everyone has gifts to share, and it’s a privilege to see Ryan and Stephen using theirs to serve others in our community.

Our next age group is Rockets. This is for children just leaving Y1 and Y2. Their venue is Salvation Army Church Hall. This group is being led by Rachel Shepherd and Tim Belton.

When we open the door to our churches each morning, we can never be sure who will be seeking our help and what they need, but we will help them if we can.

Jesus showed love where love was needed most – in forgotten places, at the edges of society, in the lives pushed to the margins. The Salvation Army reaches out with that same love today.

Unlike most charities, we don’t focus on one cause or group of people. Instead, we work tirelessly to bring warmth, safety and hope to those who need it most, including people experiencing homelessness and those who are seeking asylum.
