Wirral Unitarians

Wirral Unitarians Wirral Unitarians is a meetings place for Unitarians across the Wirral Our Minister: Rev Phil Waldron is our Minister.

Services:

Services are held on the second and fourth Sundays in the month at 6.30pm at the Quaker Meeting House Heswall (no services in August). It's easy to come along and join in one of our services. We always start the service by lighting our chalice. Usually there are hymns and prayers in which you can participate or not, as you wish. Readings may well include thoughts from faiths other than

Christianity or from secular thinkers. There is no assumption that you will necessarily agree with all the content of the readings, or with the preacher's address, but hopefully the range of sources used will help make the service an enriching spiritual experience for those who attend, whatever their individual beliefs or non-beliefs. Children and Young People:

Occasionally we hold special family services. On other occasions children if they wish can use the adjacent social room where books and activities can be provided. A national programme provides interesting activities frequently held at the Nightingale Centre at Great Hucklow, Derbyshire. Directions to The Quaker Meeting House:

Beltane: Fire, Renewal and New Beginnings

On Friday 1st May 2026 at 12noon, Wirral Unitarians will celebrate Beltane at Heswall Quaker Meeting House.

Together, we will reflect on the turning of the season, the honouring of nature, and the quiet courage to let go of what no longer gives life.

“I will not carry winter into summer if I do not have to.”

All are welcome.

Tomorrow at Noon, the Wirral Unitarians will gather at Heswall Quaker Meeting House for a reflective Good Friday service. This will be a space to pause, to sit with an ancient story many of us think we know… and to look at it again, a little differently.

We will explore Good Friday as something that continues to speak into our world today, a story of truth, courage, and the systems we create and live within.

This is a gentle, open service. You do not need to hold any particular belief to come. Just bring yourself as you are. All are welcome.

Our wonderful Ullet Road Church Sunday School community is rallying around Sid, one of our much-loved young members.

Sid is just 12 years old and has recently been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). She has begun chemotherapy at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, facing this challenge with remarkable courage.

Anyone who knows Sid will tell you the same thing, she is gentle, compassionate, and incredibly kind. Music, reading, and playing the guitar are some of the things she loves most.

As a community we would like to raise funds to bring a little light during this difficult time in,cluding a guitar, a tablet for hospital stays, and a special Golden Retriever experience to lift her spirits.

If you are able to support Sid, even in a small way, it would mean a great deal. And if you can’t donate, simply sharing this page helps more people see it.

Thank you for surrounding Sid and her family with kindness.

Sid is a much-loved member of our Ullet Road Church community and an active par… Philip Waldron needs your support for Helping Sid Smile Through Her Treatment

I will be exploring the Art of Forgiveness…

Not as something easy or forced, but as a deep human journey that often takes time. Through poetry, reflection, prayer, and quiet moments of contemplation, we’ll reflect on questions many of us carry. What does forgiveness really mean? Can we forgive too quickly?

And what happens when forgiveness feels impossible?
Together we’ll consider the slow work of the soul, how truth, time, and compassion shape our path toward healing.
All are welcome, whether you come with belief, with questions, with many beliefs, or with none at all. Come as you are.
