One of our values as a church is to pursue a deep relationship with God. We want to encounter Jesus daily in worship and prayer. As we seek to live out these values, from Monday 14th September we are launching 2 new opportunities for us to 'Pursue God' daily.

Morning Prayer will be from 9-9.30am from Monday-Thursday. These sessions will be led by different members of our ministry team each week, and include time to reflect on the Bible, as well as worshipping together. We'll be praying for all sorts of different things - our town, our world, for others, and ourselves. It really is a great way to start the day

Then on Wednesdays, we have Lunchtime Prayer at 12.30pm for 30 minutes - a time to seek the Lord together.

We would love you to join us - come as often as you like, or whenever you are available.

We are delighted to be welcoming Clive Burnard to speak at HBC this Sunday.

Before his retirement, Clive was the Regional Minister for the Yorkshire Baptist Association and, more recently, was President of Spurgeon’s College Conference, and a speaker at Spring Harvest in France.

We are excited to hear what God is going to say to us through him. See you at 10.15am on Sunday.

If you are aged 18-35, then join us this Sunday afternoon for a walk, followed by a pub lunch at the Waterside Inn, Ware.

We’ll head off together after the morning service (around 12.30pm) or you can join us directly at the pub at 1.30pm.

Yippee! Our Baby and Toddler groups start back again tomorrow after the summer holidays.

We have groups on Tuesday (0-4s), Wednesday (0-3s) and Friday (0-18months) mornings, and they all run from 10-11.30am. £2 per session, no need to book, just turn up. We use the buggy friendly entrance on Chambers Street.

Our summer gatherings concluded on Sunday with the story of Lydia.

We used purple pipe cleaners to help us remember that we are called to be God's storytellers - in all the different places that he sends us to.

We also thought about what it might look like for the Holy Spirit to give us a "surge of hospitality" so that our homes can be places where people can learn more about Jesus.

We are so excited to hear what God is going to say to us through Clive Burnard, when he comes and speaks at HBC in a few weeks time.

Before his retirement, Clive was the Regional Minister for the Yorkshire Baptist Association and, more recently, was President of Spurgeon’s College Conference. In 2025 he also served as the interim pastor at Javea International Baptist Church in Spain.

It will be great to have Clive with us - do put the date in your diaries now!

This Friday morning - 28th August - we have the last of our special Baby group summer sessions, before the new term starts in September.

Friday mornings at HBC are just for little ones aged 0-18months, with a bubble machine, ball pit, sensory play, music and singing - plus fresh coffee and cake for grown ups.

We use the buggy friendly entrance on Chambers Street, and the cost is just £2. The session runs from 10-11.30am, and we can't wait to welcome you and your baby.
