You would be so welcome to join us! We are a large church community serving the town of Hertford and the surrounding area. We are passionate about working out what following Jesus means for our daily lives and helping others to do the same. We use a wide variety of worship styles. We have activities for many different age groups and interests. Several hundred will worship with us each Sunday and m

Today is the start of the National Month of Prayer for Toddler Groups organised by 1277 - Make them Count

Here are some of the ways we are getting involved:

- every child who comes to our Baby and Toddler groups in June will get a 'Lost Sheep' storybook and their very own hand made sheep! Our team have been busy making over 180 of them!
- we have created a sheep themed prayer request box for our families to use
- we gave every person in our church a wooden sheep with the name of a child who comes to our toddler groups written on it. Each adopted sheep has been taken home to be prayed for each day this month.

Plus there will be sheep themed crafts, playdough and sensory play!

We are delighted to announce that last week Mikey Helen was called to the position of Ministry Lead for Young Adults at Hertford Baptist Church. He, and his wife Miriam, are re-locating from Lincoln and will hopefully be joining us in early July.

We are so excited to be welcoming them to Hertford, and are looking forward to all that God is going to do through Mikey and our other young adults in this coming season.

This Sunday is Pentecost - the birthday of the Christian church!

To celebrate we'll be handing out free balloons and cupcakes from 11.30am through to around 12.30pm in the garden area outside the church. Do pop down to get yours!

Earlier in the morning we have our Pentecost service at 10.15am with a bubble machine, more balloons, singing and celebration. Everyone is welcome - we would love you to join us!

Our sheep is going to Parliament!

On Monday 1st June, the organisers of the National Month of Prayer for Toddler Groups (1277 - Make them Count) will be meeting with MPs to share about the important work that toddler groups do in local communities all across the UK.

They have asked as many toddler groups as possible to send in a sheep to represent their group. So here is our sheep (made by a Yarn Bombers of course!) along with his flock of 122 little lambs - each one with the name of a baby or toddler who has attended one of our groups in the last 2 weeks!

We hope he enjoys his special visit - keep an eye out for the Hertford sheep!

Last night HBC was privileged to attend the annual meeting of Hertford Town Council at BEAM Hertford where Cllr Alex Daar was appointed as Hertford Mayor for 2026/27.

Alex came to HBC a few weeks ago, with the previous mayor - Steven Watson - and has also supported our Eco-craft afternoon for children in recent years, so it is lovely to celebrate her election to this role.

As a church we want to seek the peace and prosperity of our town, and to bless those who live, work and serve in the local area. Do join us in praying for Alex both in the coming few weeks and the year ahead.

Next Sunday is Pentecost - the birthday of the Christian church. It is always good to remember and celebrate birthdays!...

Next Sunday is Pentecost - the birthday of the Christian church. It is always good to remember and celebrate birthdays!

There will be balloons, there will be bubbles, there will be cake, there will be celebration……..and we will be welcoming the Holy Spirit to join us.
