As minds head towards post-Summer activities, can we remind you of 2 House retreats here at St Katharine's, Parmoor, later in the year...

We are thrilled to have Amy Boucher Pye leading a retreat here once again. More information about the retreat, Beloved of God – Exploring our Christian Identity (18-20 September), can be found by clicking on this link.

Amy is a London-based writer, speaker, and spiritual director. She has written six books, including 'Transforming Love' and 'Holding onto Hope'.

We are also so pleased to welcome Sheridan Voysey to St Katharine's Parmoor, where he will lead his retreat Making Church Leaders’ Friendships Flourish. A unique retreat for leaders at all levels.

“The most challenging thing about ministry is the loneliness, in life and work.” — Senior church leader

Sheridan is an author, broadcaster, and founder of FriendshipLab.org—a charity dedicated to making adult friendships thrive.

Further details for both retreats can be found by clicking the titles above.

Please contact the office to book your place.

Other exiting news for retreat house managers/wardens is that Bishop Adam has agreed to become the President of Archway (I am also a committee member of this group) - Archway is there for all those running retreat houses for peer support and promotion of retreats.
We welcome Bishop Adam on board and look forward to all he is able to add and bring to Archway and its members.

We are delighted to announce that The Rt Revd Adam Atkinson, Bishop of Bradwell has agreed to be the new President of Archway.

I don't always post feed back we receive but we received the following just at the right time...

Thank you to you and all at St Katharine’s Parmoor and Rev’d N for a wonderful quiet day (in Holy Week).

The beautiful surroundings seeped in peace and prayer over decades, together with the insightful leading by Rev’d N, created such a wonderful day. I found I could connect with God in a deeper and more meaningful way than ever before.

I cannot thank you all enough as I came with no expectations and at a time of great uncertainty in my life.
..and that's why we do what we do. So people can take intentional time out, be 'looked after' so that they can dive deeper without distraction.

One of the various hats I wear, is as a trustee of the Association for Promoting Retreats. One of the many successes of APR is the bursary scheme that has been running for a number of years now, which continues to support 60-70 people each year to go on retreat.

In May, APR's Administrator, Demelza, is undertaking a sponsored bike ride to raise funds for this worthy scheme, by riding from Land's End to John O'Groats - 1150 miles!!

It would be wonderful if you find you are able to support her, ideally by donating some money (follow the link below) or sending her supportive messages (via APR's social media streams) but particularly praying for her throughout.

As the finer detail of timescales etc become clear, it would be wonderful if you were able to greet her at some of the stops along the way!!

For more information about this venture please follow this link.

Thanks in advance for any support you can offer.

And Demelza, we are with you all the way - maybe not physically though!!!

The Association for Promoting Retreats encourages Christian prayer and spirituality through retreats, and supports the ministry of member retreat houses and leaders.

Today marks 7 year's since I arrived at St Katharine's Retreat House, not really knowing what the journey ahead was to bring!

Here is our 'hot off the press' newsletter.

We look forward to welcoming many of you through 2026 and beyond...

As I write this newsletter, it is 7 years to the day (1st February) that I arrived at St Katharine's, Parmoor. Despite the many challenges we have had, and continue to in some instances, the joys far out-number them. However, as I did 7 years ago, I still get excited about the future of this ...

Also praying for our Jewish friends after the horror of yesterday in Manchester. 🙏🙏
