We have a little more rain today - please pray for a short pause in the wet stuff to enable a rain free wedding this afternoon at St. Peter's Henfield! As August draws to an end, we've had a great month with various events - tonight we continue with a beautiful music recital and refreshments (yes - wine!) plus tomorrow our Back to School/Nursery service at 2.30pm (at which there will be cake) - both at St. Peter's Henfield. Of course - we have our wonderful Sunday services too:

All at St. Peter's Henfield this week for logistical purposes:

8.30am Holy Communion (BCP)
9.45am Parish Communion followed by refreshments
5.30pm Choral Evensong followed by refreshments

A warm welcome awaits ๐Ÿฅฐ

IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD
As this month's theme for Songs of Praise at St Peter's Woodmancote is 'The Bible & Holy Teaching' there will be an exhibition at the back of the church on our OPEN DAY (Sunday 6th September from 10am) entitled: 'In the Beginning was the Word'. This contains lots of information about the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer, which we hope will be of interest to visitors and regular worshippers including:

How to pick a Bible that's right for you.
Celebrations commemorating the 400th anniversary of KJB in 2011 and the 350th anniversary of BCP in 2012
Comparisons of different translations of the Bible: KJV, NRSV, NIV and Good News Bible
Liturgical Revision, Alternative Services and Common Worship
The Difference between Study Bibles and Concordances.
Useful Bible facts that are not widely known

There will also be a table with Bibles, Prayerbooks and other literature on display so we do hope that everyone will come to see it at some time during our special OPEN DAY and/or maybe stay for Songs of Praise at 4pm.๐Ÿ™‚

Greetings folks - last chance to get tickets for this event...if you'd like to join us, tickets available tomorrow morning only, from the church office. We sadly can't accept on the door entry as we're catering to the number of tickets sold to avoid waste. Please pray for nice weather๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™ Do bring cash on the evening for the bar, ice cream and a raffle - the wifi here is unreliable so the card machine isn't always happy! ๐Ÿ’œ

As the end of the summer holidays approaches, so does that strange, eerie and slightly weird 'back to school' feeling....some of those heading back to school/nursery will be excited, some indifferent, some may be apprehensive or if anything like I was....dreading it! However our young people may be feeling, do come along for a blessing prior to the new academic year - and bring your school/nursery bags to be blessed too and enjoy some refreshments on us๐Ÿ™‚

All are welcome - whether you attend church regularly or not๐Ÿ’œ

Yet more colour in the garden this week and you may have noticed a lot more feathers appearing in your gardens or around the village - our beautiful birds are moulting! When birds moult, they shed their wing and flight feathers in corresponding pairs for purposes of balance and stability in flight - nature is exquisite! Don't forget - on Saturday 8th August we have our pop up cafe and summer trail in the garden with activities for children and other bits and pieces available for sale. Plus - Food & Fellowship on 22nd August - tickets available from the church office. Tomorrow we have a full house with services in each of our beautiful churches - come along - a warm welcome awaits:

St. Peter's Henfield:
8.30am Holy Communion (said - BCP)
9.45am Parish Communion followed by refreshments

St. Giles' Shermanbury:
11.15am Morning Prayer (CW) followed by refreshments

St. Peter's Woodmancote:
