Dear all

A warm invitation to join us for worship today (Sunday) at any of our local Methodist Churches. There are services as usual at 10.30am in Ley Hill and Hemel Hempstead Methodist Churches.

This week is also the regular Songs of Praise service at 3.30pm in Kings Langley Methodist.

You know that I do love a thought or a theme, and for various reasons that will become apparent, resurrection is on my mind. The idea of heaven or eternal life is one of ideas most religions propose, and its probably the one I get most questions about. I have always found it a fairly straight forward thing in my own faith, but of course I get how illogical it can feel. Whether you consider yourself as having a soul, or just see yourself as an amalgam of chemicals, we are surrounded by signs of of the limitless nature of creation. Conservation of energy, fractals, time bending to a stand still in black holes - or just the sense that you are more than the sum of your physical parts - all point to an astonishing possibility, we don't cease, we just change and move onwards.

With Ley Hill having their annual car show, I take the liberty of showing the resurrection of my Beetle, Patch. I know, any excuse!

A MESSAGE from the youth worker:

Hello,
Matthew Kinghorn, the Youth and Pioneer Worker at Hemel Hempstead Methodist Church and Youth Across Hemel, is running a series of activities this summer.
These sessions will be drop-in events for young people of secondary school age. Their aim is to provide a welcoming space for young people over the summer holidays and offer fun, engaging activities for them to enjoy.
The planned activities are:
Games Day – 13th August, 1:00–4:00 pm
Arts and Crafts Day – 18th August, 1:00–4:00 pm
