Ember Days are a time in which we are asked to pray for those about to be ordained or licensed to authorised ministry in the Scottish Episcopal Church. The Ember Card 2026 lists SEI students who have completed their Initial Ministerial Formation Phase 1 (IME1) and will be deaconed.

Please pray for Emma, Karen, Tosh, and Lana both privately and publicly (for example, in the Prayers of the People on Sundays) as they prepare for this momentous step in their lives of faithful discipleship.

When we greet the day by giving thanks, a silent offering takes flight and sets the day off on the right path. 🩵

The impact of morning gratitude expands for hours, growing and blooming within us and in all that we see.

It's a simple thing to be thankful for another day. 🩵

We don’t have to give thanks for everything.

There are challenges in our hearts and there is suffering in our midst.

But it is always possible to be thankful for this new morning.

And another chance to love. 🩵
