On Sunday 28th June we will be celebrating 145 years of the Salvation Army Church in Heckmondwike.
We are trying to support Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid by giving pyjamas, pants and packs of sweets. We are still in need of pyjamas for older boys age 14+ (men’s size small), can you help? The lower picture shows 76 pairs of underpants bought today in Heckmondwike!

This Saturday morning at Heckmondwike Salvation Army we have our monthly coffee morning with tea + toast, coffee + cake, or both!
We are also collecting new pyjamas, underwear and packs of sweets to support Huddersfield to Ukraine Humanitarian Aid. Come along and support the work of The Salvation Army locally and abroad! We especially need pyjamas and underwear for older teenagers.

During Sunday worship at Heckmondwike Salvation Army today, we thought about being ‘Saved to Serve’ and all of our volunteers. During a ‘tower challenge’ we learned that instead of trying to build the highest individual tower and get a prize, if we shared our resources and helped each other, we could build a better and higher tower together as a team (and share the prize!)

Today at Friday Friends at Heckmondwike Salvation Army we had a posh picnic (charcuterie board!) for lunch and said thank you to our kitchen team volunteers for their work every week in making Friday Friends the lovely group that it is. Our group is for everyone of any age, with play space for babies and toddlers, and sit and chat space for everyone, every Friday 10am to 2pm.

Whether you are aged one or a hundred and one, there is something for you. Drinks + biscuits, light lunch too, just give a donation if you can for food and drinks. Everyone welcome!

Today we celebrated Pentecost at Heckmondwike Salvation Army. Worship meeting led by Steve, thinking about flames and the Holy Spirit, and singing in another language!
