Heptonstall Methodist Heritage Chapel Built in 1764 Heptonstall Methodist Chapel, is believed to be the oldest surviving octagonal preaching house in the world.

It is one of the unique, hidden treasures of Methodism, located in the beautiful village of Heptonstall.

Important and very exciting announcement!

Our sincere gratitude to the community of Heptonstall for their patience whilst the Calderdale Methodist Circuit, with support from Yorkshire West Methodist District and Methodist Heritage, carried out essential restoration works to Heptonstall Methodist Heritage Chapel and Sunday School.

The chapel is now reopen again for visitors on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays between 09:30-16:30, only made possible by the volunteer group, Friends of Heptonstall Chapel and Sunday School.

If you wish to arrange a group or school visit, enquire about staging an exhibition, lecture, meeting, partnership working or just require further information please contact Heptonstall's Heritage Worker at [email protected]
