Few people know that the first Cornishman to embrace the Bahá’í Faith was Daniel Jenkyn born in St. Ives, Cornwall
Born in 1884, Jenkyn grew up in the seafaring community of St. Ives before moving into wider circles in London during the early 1900's. There he met Ethel Rosenberg, who introduced him to the Bahá’í Faith. Deeply inspired by its teachings on the essential unity of the human family and the oneness of all the world’s religions, he was in many ways far ahead of his time.
