Few people know that the first Cornishman to embrace the Bahá’í Faith was Daniel Jenkyn born in St. Ives, Cornwall

Born in 1884, Jenkyn grew up in the seafaring community of St. Ives before moving into wider circles in London during the early 1900's. There he met Ethel Rosenberg, who introduced him to the Bahá’í Faith. Deeply inspired by its teachings on the essential unity of the human family and the oneness of all the world’s religions, he was in many ways far ahead of his time.

A superb sunny afternoon for our Cornwall Faith Forum gathering at the Dor Kemmyn Peace Field hosted by the Baha'i Faith community who shared songs about their 'Three Holy Days'. Many thanks to them for a wonderful time of sharing and being together.

Act in such a way that your heart may be free from hatred. Let not your heart be offended with anyone. If some one commits an error and wrong toward you, you must instantly forgive him. Do not complain of others. Refrain from reprimanding them, and if you wish to give admonition or advice, let it be offered in such a way that it will not burden the bearer. Turn all your thoughts toward bringing joy to hearts. Beware! Beware! lest ye offend any heart. - ⠀ ⠀
