Haxey Parish Church includes the villages of Haxey, Westwoodside, East Lound and Graizelound and Low Burnam. It is known locally as the "Cathedral of the Isle" being the largest church building in the Isle of Axholme. Notable features include six bells and a rare, ancient carillon which plays three hymn tunes. The organ is a fine instrument and the kneelers and Stations of the Cross banners are in

teresting examples of needlework. The church is over 900 years old and the church and parish of Haxey are mentioned in the Domesday Book. St Nicholas seeks to be an active forward-looking church with a variety of types of worship ranging from parish communion to evensong to experimental contemporary styles of workship.
