What if God is in the most ordinary parts of your week?

The school run. The commute. The coffee. The Monday morning.

Maybe ordinary isn’t so ordinary after all…

Life doesn’t always make sense.

Sometimes we carry grief. Sometimes we carry questions. Sometimes we just need a little peace.

This week’s Thought for the Week takes inspiration from Let It Be and the story of Jonah to explore how God’s grace meets us in the middle of life’s storms.

I’d love to know what gives you peace when life feels overwhelming.

Thought for the week - Learning to Rest:
Summer is here, but true rest is more than taking time off.
For many, the summer holidays have finally arrived. After weeks of rushing from one deadline to the next, this season offers an opportunity to slow down.

How do you find rest and renewal during the summer? We’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thought for the Week - The journey before the break.

There’s something about this time of year that feels like one long final push.

Schools are counting down to the summer holidays. Teachers are finishing reports. Pupils are looking towards the end of term. Families are juggling sports days, concerts, celebrations and all the busyness that seems to gather before the holidays begin. For many, work has its own deadlines to meet before people take a well-earned break.

Perhaps that’s how you’re feeling too.

Life can often feel as though we’re constantly working towards the next milestone. If I can just get through this week… If I can just finish this project… If I can just make it to the holidays…

There is nothing wrong with looking forward. In fact, hope is one of God’s greatest gifts. But sometimes, in our determination to reach the finish line, we forget that God is present in the ordinary moments along the way.

The Bible reminds us, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)

Not tomorrow. Not when life slows down. Today.

Perhaps this week we can pause, even briefly, to notice the blessings that are already around us: a conversation with a friend, the warmth of the sunshine, laughter shared over a cup of tea, the beauty of God’s creation, or simply the quiet assurance that we do not walk through life alone.

If you’re counting down the days until the holidays, I hope they come quickly for you. But before they arrive, may you also discover God’s grace in the here and now.

Whatever this week brings, may you know God’s strength for today’s tasks, peace for today’s worries, and joy for today’s blessings.

Take great care, stay safe - God bless 🙏🏻

Thought for the Week: When the Ground Beneath Us Moves

Over recent weeks we have seen the joy, unity and community that sport can bring through the World Cup. This week our thoughts turn to those facing fear and uncertainty after the earthquake in Venezuela.

In moments when life feels shaken, we are reminded that hope is found not only in words, but in people — neighbours helping neighbours, communities standing together, and compassion reaching across borders.

Isaiah 41:10 reminds us:

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.”

May we remember those who are hurting, hold them in prayer, and continue to be people who bring hope wherever it is needed. ❤️
