Easter Services

The Bishop of Dover, the Right Reverend Bishop Rose Hudson-Wilkin will be presiding over the following Easter Services:

Maundy Thursday – 2nd April
6.00 p.m. Solemn Eucharist

Good Friday – 3rd April
9.30 a.m. Liturgy of Good Friday

Good Friday Procession
11.30 a.m. Churches Together in Hawkhurst and
Walk of Witness starting from St. Barnabas Church

Easter Sunday – 5th April
10.00 a.m. Family Communion

Please bring a posy of flowers to adorn the cross if you are able to.

Good Friday – As well as our own service at St Laurence on Good Friday – 3rd April – we will have the following Ecumenical Service:

This year the Good Friday Service will be led by Revd Ben Gotts. It will begin at St Barnabas’ at 11:30am. The walk will proceed through the village, finishing at Dunk’s Almshouses. Attendees will then be invited back to the Baptist Church for the final Lent Lunch.

Please come to the 10am Holy Communion service this Sunday when The Bishop of Dover, the Right Reverend Rose Hudson-Wilkin will be the Celebrant and Preacher.

There will be no 8 am service tomorrow.

Babyccino Cafe is open this Thursday, 8th January, 9.30 am to 11.30 am for coffee/tea, cakes, toys and activities for children up to 5 years. The church will be heated during this cold weather, but please wear warm clothes as it may still be a bit chilly! Thank you 🙂

Tomorrow’s Holy Communion Services at 8 am and 10 am will be Father Rodney’s final Services as our vicar at St Laurence Church after 27 years. We cannot begin to express our gratitude to Father Rodney and Sandra for all their dedication and spiritual guidance over these years. Please do come and join us at one of these services if you can and help us say our final farewells 🙂

An enormous thank you to everyone who came to St Laurence Crib Service today and made it so special.

A special ‘thank you’ to Josh @ Ockley Barn Farm for bringing Dahlia the donkey, Emily Olde for Fred the sheep and Jubilee Hire for the stage and to all our actors, both adults and children, who helped us tell this special story of the first Nativity.

We look forward to welcoming you to all our Christmas services

Hospice in the Weald ‘Light up a Life’ Remembrance Service is on Saturday 29th November 2025 at 3 pm at St Laurence Church.
