Being Christian means trying to follow Jesus' way on a whole life journey. We are only human but find strength from one another as we learn together and our friendship and support grows. We are open-minded and welcoming and willing to try new ideas. Come and join in our fun and laughter. Our vision is to develop a warm fellowship in our community, caring for young and old.

Simon Costen passed away peacefully at Southlands Place care home in Bexhill-on-Sea on 28th January. He and Anne have lived in the Harfield parish for over 40 years and as Simon was the Police constable for the area for most of this time he was well known in the community. When out of uniform he will have been a familiar figure walking one of his jack russells or playing cricket for the Hartfield team,

Simon's wishes are to be buried in Somerset and that is where the funeral service is to be held on Monday 23rd February at 11:30am, St.Peter's Church, Shepton Montague.

The Revd Sear has kindly agreed that there can be a book of condolence in the parish church for anyone who knew him to have the opportunity to send a message of support to Anne and the family.

The book will be available from Tuesday 17th February in the Lady’s Chapel during church opening hours which are:
• Monday: 9am-12.30am
• Tuesday – Thursday: 9am to 3pm
• Friday & Saturday: 7.30am to 4pm
• Sunday: 8.30am to 12pm (for the Sunday Service)
