The Harrogate Islamic Association, established in 2011, serves Harrogate's diverse Muslim communities.

We operate the Harrogate Islamic Centre, opened after four years of acquisition and renovation in March 2026 and located in the heart of Harrogate.

Assalamu aleikum everyone. Due to our ongoing work renovating our mezzanine top floor, we won’t have the ability to host a single jumu’ah prayer on Fridays through August. Therefore we plan to have two jamaats starting this Friday, August 7th:

1:15pm to 1:45pm
2:00pm to 2:30pm

Please choose the second congregation if possible as that is likely to be the smaller gathering.

Also please park legally, either in disc zones or in the nearby Tower Street multi story car park (only £0.80 for one hour and 350 spaces).

A kind non-Muslim neighbour whose husband passed away got in touch to see if we would accept the Qur’an and Hadith books from his collection. We happily accepted and now have a French translation of the Qur’an for any French speaking visitors. Merci beaucoup!

Assalamu aleikum, everyone. Join us for an Eid party hosted by our friends at St. Andrews Church in Starbeck on Saturday 6 June from 6-8pm. This will be a potluck gathering... please feel free to bring any dish or drink you like.

Inshallah we will celebrate Eid Ul-Adha on Wednesday 27 May, with prayer times at 7:30am and 8:30am at our new Islamic centre.

Remember that there is no parking on Tower Street or Belford Road but there is plenty of room in the multi storey car park 100m away. We wish our community a blessed Eid.

Assalamu aleikum, everyone. Inshallah, from Friday 15 May 2026, we will have one jumu'ah prayer at 1:30pm (instead of two salaats as we have had until now). We have made arrangements to accommodate extra people on the ground floor to make this possible.

A reminder that there is NO PARKING on Tower Street in front of our neighbouring businesses. Please use legal street parking or the multi-storey car park on Tower Street.

Also, from 14 May, we will have congregational Isha prayer directly after Maghrib. Download the Mawaqit app (for iOS and Android) and look up Harrogate Islamic Centre to see updated prayer times and announcements. Jazakullahkhair.

Juma mubarak! We are settling in nicely into our new home with two congregational prayers on Fridays at 1:30pm and 2:30pm. But we still need your support to pay our debts and complete the building works (including a new lift for our disabled brothers and sisters, a new mezzanine, and full exterior refurbishment).
