A ‘DIAMOND’ CELEBRATION
Last weekend it was a great pleasure to celebrate, with Mgr. Turner, the 60th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood. At the beginning of Mass, he said it was ‘a privilege’ for him to celebrate with the parish. But it was also a privilege for us to be able to celebrate his 60 years of joyful service and dedication to God and His Church.

It was good that many parishioners came to celebrate with him, and for all of us to give thanks to God for this life of service, a life of service that we and, others, have benefited from.

Thank you to everyone who assisted with the various arrangements in both the church and in Lourdes Hall. And thank you too to the Ladies Group for organising the food, and to everyone who donated the various items of food. We continue to give thanks for Mgr. Turner’s life of service, and we pray that he will be blessed with more years of serving the Lord.

This weekend we have the pleasure of celebrating with Mgr Turner the 60th anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood. On 5th June 1966 he was ordained in St Mary and St Joseph’s Church, Poplar.

This is a wonderful moment to celebrate with him, 60 years of service and faithfulness, in a variety of roles, to God and His people. It is also a moment to give thanks to God for this example of service and faithfulness.

At 11.30am on Sunday morning there is the Mass of Thanksgiving, and afterwards there is the parish celebration in Lourdes Hall, everyone is welcome to both the Mass and celebration afterwards.

▪ The Monsignor is very clear that he doesn't want any presents, but if you wish, you can make a donation to one of his favourite charities:

• Thank you to everyone who has signed up to bring food to Mgr Turner's party. If you are going to 8.30am or 9.45am Mass, you can bring your offerings to Mass. OTHERWISE, please bring your food to Lourdes Hall before the 11.30am Mass.

St Dominic's School has kindly offered the use of their car park for the party. We look forward to seeing you.
