This Sunday we began our journey through 1 Timothy, exploring Paul's charge to Timothy to guard the gospel and lead God's people faithfully.
In a culture filled with competing voices, Paul reminds us that the message of Jesus is too precious to distort and too important to ignore. False teaching may lead people away from truth, but the gospel always leads us to Christ.
One of the most powerful moments in the passage comes in Paul's own testimony. Before God transformed his life, he was a blasphemer and persecutor of the church. Yet God's mercy reached him. His story reminds us that no one is beyond the grace of God.
"The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners."
The law shows us our need, but grace reveals our Saviour. When we see ourselves honestly before God, we discover the depth of His mercy and the beauty of Jesus.
As a church, may we hold firmly to the gospel, protect it, proclaim it, and never lose sight of the hope we have in Christ.
