Sometimes life feels like a slog. You’re tired, things keep going wrong, and there are days when you’d rather stay in bed than face another battle. That’s why Christian friendship matters throughout the week, not just on a Sunday. People who’ll listen, pray with you and remind you of God’s promises when you’re struggling to hold on to them yourself.
In today’s passage, Acts 14:19- 23, Paul was stoned and left for dead. But he wasn’t left alone. Other believers gathered around him, and he got up. Later, he and Barnabas returned to encourage the churches to keep going in their faith, even through hardship.
Pastor Chris’s encouragement was simple: surround yourself with believers who’ll help you keep following Jesus. And be that person for someone else.
Those friendships take time. That’s why Chris is praying about home groups, where people can share a meal, open the Bible and get to know one another properly. If you could host, speak to him. Or begin by inviting someone for coffee and a proper catch-up. And if you need support this week, let someone know. You don’t have to wait until you’re feeling stronger to reach out.
