Sunday 6th September 2026 – The Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost

On Sunday 6th September there will be two services of worship at Hillbank Parish Church. At both services we will celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
In the morning, at 10:45am, we meet for Morning Worship in the Hillhouse Ministry Centre. In the evening, we meet at 6:30pm for Evening Worship at the Burnbank Ministry Centre. All welcome.

Dear friends,
On Sunday I announced the sad news that one of our members, Mrs Jean Wilson, sadly passed away last week. Jean was a loving wife, mum, gran, sister, aunt, and a great friend to so many in the church. She touched so many people’s lives with her kindness and generosity. Jean was so gentle and compassionate. Despite all the challenges she faced in life, Jean always put others before herself. I have never known a more selfless person.
Whenever I went to visit Jean, I always felt that I got more out of the visit than she did. Her faith was so strong, and she was such an inspiration to us all.
Jean’s funeral will be held in the Hillhouse Ministry Centre at 10am on Friday 11th September, followed by a short service of committal at South Lanarkshire Crematorium at 11am. Everyone is also welcome to join the family at Carrigan’s in Hamiton following the service.
We keep Jean’s family in our prayers and take comfort in knowing that Jean is now at home with the Lord she loved and served all her life. She has seen the Lord Jesus face-to-face and been welcomed home with the words: ‘well done, good and faithful servant – enter into your master’s joy’.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8: 38-39, NIV)
