Greetings to all our community on Ascension Day, when we celebrate Jesus' ascension into heaven forty days after His resurrection. A small congregation from the Benefice of Hamble and Hound celebrated with a special Eucharist in St Andrew's Church this morning. Join us this Sunday (17th May) at 10 am when we will continue to celebrate Ascensiontide as we look forward to the feast of Pentecost on Sunday 24th May, when we recall the risen Lord sending his disciples the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Helen Griffiths has been volunteer organist at St Andrew's Church for almost thirty years. Sadly she has now had to retire due to declining health. She was formally thanked and presented with gifts at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting today. Helen said it had been a privilege and a pleasure to serve the church in this way.

It was great to welcome around 220 pupils from years 3-4 and 5-6 from Hamble Primary School over two days, to learn more about Christianity and explore the Church. They met our newest member of the ministry team Rev Gordon (pictured) who assisted Rev Liz, June and David! Thanks for coming, hope to see you again soon.
