Teddy Bears will be parachuting from the top of the tower of St Andrew's Church in Hamble on Sunday 4th October at 12 noon. There will also be a Teddy Bears' picnic! Inviting all brave bears and other soft toys to come and join in the fun - parachutes are provided and a Certificate of Bravery will be awarded!

Can you help us with the Christmas Shoebox Appeal? Once again we are collecting small Christmas gifts to pack in shoeboxes and send to disadvantaged children in Eastern Europe. Last year we managed to send 120 boxes of presents! You can help by donating any of the following items :
Toothpaste, soap and flannels
Small colouring and activity books
Colouring pencils and felt tip pens
Geometry sets, exercise books and note pads
Small cars, dolls and little ponies
Playing cards, domino sets, small games and puzzles
Tennis balls, soft balls and skipping ropes
Small purses and wash bags
Hairbrushes, combs and hair accessories
Children's socks and gloves - all sizes

Please bring donations to St Andrew's Church, Hamble by October 18th. Best time to call in is Sunday and Thursday mornings, 9.30 - 12.00. THANK YOU!

Don't miss the glorious west window featuring the church's founder, St Bernard of Thiron against a background of the Hamble river with Star sailing boats and the Solent and the Isle of Wight beyond.

Join us next Sunday (12th July) at 10 am for our Sea Sunday Service with Communion. Being based in the maritime village of Hamble-le-Rice it is particularly fitting that we celebrate Sea Sunday. The area has deep nautical roots right on the River Hamble and close to the the Port of Southampton. We will have a retiring collection for the work of the Mission to Seafarers, who support crews facing isolation, danger and extended time away from home. The Rev'd Hugh Ellis, co-Port Chaplain in Gibraltar, will be presiding at this service. Rev'd Hugh spends half of the year ministering to seafarers in Gibraltar and shares that he has sometimes seen ships departing Southampton whilst out on his boat off Hamble, before meeting them again in Gibraltar. Through the shipping lanes we are connected to points across the globe and in this service we seek to pray for all seafarers. We look forward to seeing you next Sunday for the service and refreshments afterwards.

There was a good turnout for the summer bazaar at the Place 2B coffee morning today. Funds were being raised for the Priory Centre kitchen refurbishment. Many thanks to all those who organised and supported the event.

Greetings to all our community on Ascension Day, when we celebrate Jesus' ascension into heaven forty days after His resurrection. A small congregation from the Benefice of Hamble and Hound celebrated with a special Eucharist in St Andrew's Church this morning. Join us this Sunday (17th May) at 10 am when we will continue to celebrate Ascensiontide as we look forward to the feast of Pentecost on Sunday 24th May, when we recall the risen Lord sending his disciples the gift of the Holy Spirit.
